Hi,
I'm facing what could be a difficult confrontation with management at my company. After my boss left the company six months ago, I took over editing a magazine on an interim basis, but haven't received a formal promotion. I'm starting to get a gut feeling that the management has no intention of promoting me in a way that would be fair and asked the YI about my situation. I got 43 (breakthrough) line 2, changing to 49 (Revolution).

Sounds like I indeed have a battle ahead. I am feeling tempted to just leave and move on to work on more rewarding freelance projects, as I have a side job I enjoy very much and could be a primary gig if I put more time into it. What I can't figure out is: would it be worth battling to the bitter end to secure a fair deal at my day job, or just separate myself from it and make a radical career change? As I've mentioned before, it took me years to find a full time job as a journalist and in many ways I very much enjoy this job and all the new skills it's given me, so it would be a tough call to make.

Thanks for your help!

Line 43.2 says don't worry, the situation may be a bit difficult but take no notice and just do your work as there seems to be no reason to get anxious but prepare yourself now in case some time later something does happen.

Hex 49 suggests oneday your status will indeed change successfully.

To speak up or not to speak up

Following up on what Willowfox said above:

People who simply cannot abide unfair ignoramuses (aka "bosses") over them  just have to be out on their own, being their own bosses. :) However, most people by temperament just cannot make it as successful entrepreneurs or freelancers. The statistic is that most new businesses go out of business within five years.

You know, having a full-time job and a sideline job simultaneously is the best of all possible worlds, because you can have your cake and eat it, too, as the saying goes.
