Hello everyone,
I am writing my dissertation and there is some information which I feel if I mention in my paper then it will not be good for my work. I want to hide it(something like some information which is against my project or some findings). It is minor information but could effect a great deal. I asked Yi as to should I hide this information? Will it be better if I hide it?

I received hexagram 37 moving lines 3,5,6 changing to hexagram 24.

I am not able to make out anything from this can anyone give me an insight into what it means......it will help a great deal as I have started writing my dissertation.

Thanks n cheers,
nirali

Putting myself in your place, the message I'd be getting from that reading would be to address the issue (slightly damaging information) and resolve it by addressing it and working through it in your dissertation. In the case of this reading, I think this is shown by the progression in the lines - a bit negative at first in 3, but ultimately resulting in a harmonious resolution in line 6.

Given that you're writing an academic dissertation, you'll no doubt be working with a professor/advisor. To me, the 37, and especially line 5, indicates you'll want to work closely with him/her and possibly other colleagues in your field to help work through the implications of the contradicting material. One could also see this as them helping you return to "the right way" in the hex to hex aspect of the reading: 37 -> 24, Family to Returning. This can also help you bond with your colleagues (in a professional sense).

Generally speaking (and this doesn't stem from the specifics of your reading, it's just "advice",) if you try to "hide" the negative information now it'll just be left unaddressed with the potential to emerge later on and cause problems. If you deal with it "head on" and find ways to address the negative information in your work, you've not only dealt with it, but made your dissertation that much better, no?

Best of luck!

I agree with Jeff, Nirali. This is also how I understand this answer of the I Ching.

Good luck! :)
