Hi everyone,
I guess this might be the best place to introduce myself and say hi to the community?
My name is Georges, I'm, 44 year-old, French and live near Avignon. I teach translation and grammar/linguistics at the English department of Avignon Université.
I've come across the Yi Jing listening to the conferences of Alan Watts and it triggered my curiosity. A bit of reading (especially Jung's relationship to the Yi Jing) was enough for me to want to start exploring the possibility of a relationship with the Yi. For now, I take it as a way to dialogue with my deeper levels of consciousness and universe... so now I'm part of the community! I'm very new to the whole thing. I've taken the beginner's course and am taking the foundations course as well. Grateful for the guidance! The whole thing is rather quite confusing still but getting a bit clearer. There are questions dear to my heart I'm longing to ask the Yi, but have decided to "practice" a bit first to get the hang of how to read a cast. Did my first casting today using the yarrow stick method (I like that it takes a bit more time). Don't quite know what to make to the answer but that's the very point of embarking on the journey I guess!
