Greetings. An opportunity to purchase an amazing piece of property stumbled upon my family. The owner did not have the house/land on the market (was selling the adjoining property but now considering giving us both parcels). The owner has taken a liking to my husband, who clearly demonstrated his appreciation of the beauty of the land. It is all incredibly serendipitous.

We are currently in negotiations as the price for both parcels is higher than we originally wanted to pay - but we can pull it off and this kind of land is rare in my area. This opportunity won’t come again. The house itself is meh but livable. We’d eventually redo. The value is the land itself. It’s a piece of land where you wouldn’t think twice if unicorns stop for a drink at the brook and fairies ride atop dragonflies. It’s near both our jobs, so it’s practical, too.

When I asked the iching the result of purchasing this property I got 19 unchanging. Great! Except, the 8th month misfortune concerns me. Does anyone have insights on the 8th month? Should we back out?

Hello, so the eight month is September, and that is the time when Autumn is approaching and the energy is in decline. The misfortune can be anything in particular but it will be specific to the purchase so what I advise you to do is ask a follow up question 'If I purchase this property what will occur during the eight month?' or 'What will be the outcome of purchasing this property?'. Basically you're having a conversation with the Oracle to get more insight into the situation.

Another thought, the Chinese year begins in February so it can also mean the eight month from when you did the prediction.
Purchasing the property is a great opportunity for you so 'it is beneficial not to wait'. However, you need to be prepared for whatever comes your way because everything doesn't go smoothly and you'll encounter setback(s) (health, financial, personal etc) that you wouldn't have expected.

Perhaps you are being cautioned to consider all that will need to be done after you purchase the land to make the house livable. Or maybe it means in your negotiations to not agree to terms too quickly, considering all the work yet to be done.

Thank you for the reply. I asked the follow up of what will occur with the property on the 8th month and received 2.3.5>39. Does that mean I will overcome the obstacle by responding in a 2.3&5 way? Being receptive and not overdoing it?

There are definitely some red flags that could become a major issue if not dealt with right away. I’m not new to home ownership, so I know there’s always work to be done. However, the issues that emerged will definitely result in restraint from doing much more to the home until we remedy them. If we choose to ignore (or never discovered them in the first place), it could result in a major (and more expensive) pitfall.

Yes, what you say has already occurred since I first wrote this post. A major red flag emerged that could be remedied but at a cost we were not anticipating. We’re in the process of negotiating this through as we do really want this home as the long term investment seems worth it.

I asked the iching what it meant about the 8th month for this property and received 2.3.5> 39. I am wondering if reacting to these challenges in a 2.3.5 way will help overcome the obstacle? I am never quite sure how to interpret the changing hex in relation to the original hex. Of course, the 39 is alarming!

Together I think you are being advised not to bite off more than you can chew. Perhaps the house remodel is something that will go on for some time and so you must expect this, pace yourselves, and for now think in terms of just bringing the place up to date, being satisfied with small improvements one day at a time and not agree to building new rooms or launching other grandiose projects.
39. sounds oppressive but setting up a new home IS a major undertaking so don't let it scare you!

Thank you, Rosada. I agree with all you said. At this point, I’m leaving it up to the Universe.

There are so many bumps along the way (as with any home buying experience) plus the additional elements of it being an unusual real estate transaction as the home wasn’t originally for sale, there is a second adjoining land-only property involved as the owner wants to get rid of both in one full swoop and we’re purchasing as-is (yikes!).

I asked another question, which is how I’d feel about the purchase in a year. I received 18.1.6 > 11.

I was initially taken aback by the 18, but the changing lines made sense to me. I know I’ll be fixing things and correcting mistakes done to the home over time... and the changing line 6 - time will tell. I hope the hex 18 changing to hex 11 is hopeful? Hard work but it will be worth it? It could have been worse lol.

I too think 18.1.6 > 11. sounds hopeful.
18.1 could mean doing repairs and sounds like it works out well.
18.6 seems to be saying that only you can say if it's worth it.
11. as the resulting hexagram seems to encourage you to keep putting energy into this, but I think it could also mean follow the flow as in be prepared to walk away if the negotiations don't peacefully flow towards buying but instead you find yourselves guided to do something else. But maybe 11 means all parties are in agreement?

Looking at the other lines for clues...Perhaps you should find out more about the history of the house.
18.2 Why was it allowed to fall into disrepair?
18.4 Would the owner be willing to pay for some of the necessary improvements?

Just to update, we ended up not getting the house because the seller backed out. Interestingly, when I asked the iching what the status of the purchase was that morning. I got 23uc.... so I wasn’t surprised one bit!
