I applied for a new job and a week or so ago asked:
what is likely to happen with the job in September (they will be announcing the appointment mid-september)? I got 39:3,4 to 45
then this morning I asked:
Will I get the job? the response was 30:6 to 55

now I'm confused!! Any thoughts?

This is a situation that you are struggling to come to terms with. Your heart is not really in what you are doing with regards to this position but all you have to do is sit back and see what comes your way. All will reveal itself. Things will become clearer and you will make a decision that brings things into better focus.

Will I get the job? the response was 30:6 to 55
You are going to see what it is it you really want from your career / life and set your stall out to get it. You will get lots of good things coming your way - not necessarily the things that you are thinking now are the good things.

This sounds like a really exciting opportunity that is going to open up for you.

Perhaps its just advising you to keep still for the moment, to stop any thoughts of the job until next month when you will you will be called.

Looks like you will.

me being me and not being able to leave things alone (and in the midst of some anxiety about my work situation, which is very quiet right now)...asked:
What is happening with the job right now, will I hear from them next week?
27:3,6 to 11

really confused about what this might mean!! Any thoughts, anyone?

Bit of an update...I didn't get the job!!! Not sure what that tells me about the I Ching...feeling a little disillusioned to say the least...

Well no surprises there then. Let the disillusionment act as a springboard. Onwards and upwards. To infinity and beyond.

To be quite honest I thought you were in with a chance, as Hex 55 was your chance to be number one for a change, but it seems that someone in charge thought you were unqualified for the position and therefore, made a totally unbiased decision, that you were just not right.

It is just strange because you should have got somewhere. Was this a computer generated reading?

Willowfox, no, I always use yarrow stalks and do the full length process. Mike, out of curiosity, why no suprises there? Work is turning around generally, but that wasn't the question I asked (which was about the specific position)...

p.p.s more info...
Tho other night (before hearing I didn't get the job) I was thinking about it and had a sudden intuition that maybe I had been asking the wrong questions, and what I really needed to know was if I did get the job, whether it would be a successful venture for me, or what I would learn from it. Suddenly felt as if it may be a question of 'be careful what you wish for'! I also had a strong feeling though that if I faced difficulties with this opportunity that those difficulties would be part of a learning experience (I don't know why, but my intuition is usually good, so I went with it...). So I asked 'will this project be successful for me' and got 12:2,3,4,6 to 48

so maybe I've had a lucky escape??? :)

I also just asked 'why didn't I get the job'?
44:4,5 to 4
To me this seems to be saying if I had got the job it would not have worked out, it was not the right 'working relationship', and I'm wondering if 4 is saying I'm not mature enough yet to handle the responsibility/its just too early....?
What do you think?

I already suggested a few posts back that I thought that they considered you either unqualified or perhaps inexperienced. Enthusiasm was obviously not enough.

There is a sense here that you perhaps didn't enter the job situation with the right amount of homework having been done. Don't get hung up on why you lost the job - there is a lot more you can learn from this situation than wallowing in self analysis. The folly of not accepting what has happened may sink it's teeth into you if you are not careful.
Do take care

Thanks Mike, don't worry, I'm pretty philosophical about it! :) Tend to think things happen (or don't) for a reason, and other paths are opening up...
