My personalized Veteran license plates were stolen (feel so appreciated by that), so I ordered new ones; but this time I just asked for a sequential number, not personalized. I thought it might be interesting given that some people use license plates to consult the I Ching. The new plates arrived today:

796HEX

Hexagram 7 is “The Army” (it is a Veteran plate). Not too sure about hexagram 9, “The Taming Power of the Small,” as it talks about returning (sounds good), but also the spokes coming off the wheels (sounds bad). And 6HEX suggests, you know . . . .

An interpretation more relevant to psychiatry: Hexagrams 9 and 10 are visuals of a shoe. In 9 the toe is pointing downward and thus returning to the origin. Hexagram 9 is yang earth and refers to those who return, that is, the influence of spirits in the lives of the living.

On one side you've got the army (you).
On the other side there's conflict: you are sincere but obstructed (eg by theft).
"And so what?" 9 in the middle - it's something you easily handled by getting new plates.
9, taming small beasts, well of course conflict is a small beast for the army.
The conflict can't truly touch you because noone can take away the fact that you're a veteran.

Traditionally, sixliners were never referred by their serial number, but by their names (probably because there were several different orders of sixliners, depending on school/tradition). The threeliners are, on the other hand, a different story, but they also have at least two kinds of number correspondences (one by Earlier Heaven Arrangement (Xian Tian, 先天) and one by Later Heaven Arrangement (Hou Tian, 後天)) you might try to play with.

Russell, does the date 7/96 have any significance?

... or, although it would probably not reflect a conventional format, the date of June '79?

9 , your choice for a random, no personalized number
6 maybe a conflict was resolved
(My personalized Veteran license plates were stolen (feel so appreciated by that)

7/96: had a few more months to go on active duty, not quite the month I became a veteran. 6/79, end of first year in college.

I thought about the trigrams, as 7, 9, and 6 are all line numbers; turning them into a hexagram (796796) is still Lake turning into Fire. But HEX, and 7 = the Army, makes me primarily think of the individual hexagrams. The V.A. is a healthcare system run by politicians; there is always plenty of conflict (6) to go around. Have to ponder how 9 relates to this; dense clouds but no rain, maybe things will not turn out as disastrously as they sometimes threaten to? At least if I stop halfway.

p.s. There literally were dense clouds, but no rain, yesterday; I watched a vivid thunderstorm from miles away. But it was to the east. FWIW . . . .

Yes, 7 is clear but I'm not sure about the letter of the plate "hex" It could be HEX's 7,9,6 or it also could be "construct a hexagram"

I gather your concern is about Veteran benefits and I have heard that due to the economic situation things are not easy and cut offs maybe occur.

Does 58.2.3.5.6 > 30 resonates in any way ? Could your VA benefits be the cow of 30 and 58 points to a course of actions or things to ponder on ?

It’s not benefts, it is working for the V.A. and having to put up with constant policy changes by politicians who are making healthcare decisions and who think that every new requirement they add to what healthcare providers do besides listening to the patient and treating their problems makes things “better.” So at some point you don’t have much time to listen to the patients and treat their problems anymore, and you realize that your real job is generating spreadsheet data to keep the politicians happy. Stopping here because I don’t want to get fired . . . .

I see it as saying, "I am a veteran."

7. The army.
9. One individual.
6. The conflict.

You're not the only one. I just received yet another cancellation/rescheduling from the VA, which was already 8 months behind. It's gone from bad to ridiculous. It's ok, fellas, it's only a heart condition.

Maybe time for 39.2!

PS: Nice one, Rosada. Not an army of one, just one in an army, taking care of we chickens and roosters.

it honor you to say that because this is what on expects from health care providers and its really disappointing that saying that or fight that there is the risk to lose your job.
