Help. First post here.

Greetings,

So I began doing readings last week and one of my questions was "what if I devoted my time to writing now?" I got 21 Eradicating or Biting Through, with moving lines at Initial 9 (#35) and 5th 6 (#25). I feel that if I do pursue more time to writing that I must work through quite a bit, "gnaw through" a tenacious obstacle. Any suggestions or advice about this.
I then asked the I Ching what the obstacle was that I must bit through and got #22, Adornment or Grace with a moving line at 9 above (#36, brightness Hiding). I immediately thought that this may have to do with not worrying about appearances, how my writing would "look" to others and get to the truth of my own expression. Not to be afraid of letting others read or hear my writing. I've had a huge block with this, sitting down and doing the work. I want it all to look good before showing others so I usually just end up not doing it. Does any of this make sense or do any of you see it differently. Is this an auspicious activity to pursue for me?
I am very excited about delving into the I Ching, although it can be overwhelming with all the different layers and modes of interpretation available. I am eager to spend more time with it.

Peace

Chris

21.1.5 > 12

Sorry to have to say this, but you might have to re-think this ...

21.1 > 35. You are hampered from progressing at the beginning, as all comes into view.
21.5 > 25. It may be entirely too much for you. There are dangers here you can't even anticipate from your present point of view. You may be taking on entirely too much. I think the line means you are correct in general, but are you strong enough to take this on?

Your relating hexagram is 12, which is not good. The upper trigram is moving upwards and the lower trigram is moving downwards. In other words, they are moving in opposite directions, further and further apart. It is often taken to mean: Withdraw, do not participate. It also has to do with communication problems and perhaps a not-so-good situation you're in. It is really not auspicious, given the question you asked. ....

22.6 > 36.

H22 is about refinement and, yes, copy editing.

Could Yi be saying that you are too tied up mentally in re-working sentences and lines, as you indicated above?

Beyond that I cannot say, as I've been getting this line a lot lately myself and it has been getting fuzzier, not any clearer, for me ... Hope this was somewhat helpful anyway. :)

Please take a minute to notice how we notate our readings so people can follow you. You got 21.1.5 > 12.

You really have to re-think this writing project, as it seems it is hindered at the beginning and will run into serious dangers and troubles later on ...

This seems to indicate that you'll need a lot of help and advice from people in the know about writing itself. :)

Thanks for your help Ginnie. Your interpretation sounds about right considering with where I am now.

So when you have more than one moving line, you switch all of them to create just one relating hexagram?
