Hi I read the ask questions sections and asked one of my own and would really appreciate any feedback on my reading....so here it goes...

What effect would it have on my spider veins if i continue using ayurvedic medicine
[/B]Your reading resulted in the following hexagrams:

changing to

16

19

Hexagram 16, Enthusiasm

Key Questions

What do you imagine?
What inspires you?
How can you use your enthusiasm constructively?

Oracle

‘Enthusiasm.
Fruitful to set up feudal lords and mobilize the armies.’

The Chinese word for ‘enthusiasm’ contains an elephant – a character that also means ‘image’. The elephant is magnificent, strong, a source of delight – and also unpredictable and potentially dangerous. Imagination and anticipation move us with ease; with them, we can be motivated and inspired – or we can be carried away by the power of our own story.

The energetic charge of enthusiasm can be used to set great things in motion. It is good to use it to expand and enrich your experience by extending your network of communication and support, marshalling your resources ready for future challenges. And it is also good to use such structures to channel the motive power of enthusiasm, and keep it from running amok. Then its brightly coloured images can be woven securely into the larger patterns and meanings of life.

Image

‘Thunder bursts forth from the earth: Enthusiasm.
The ancient kings composed music to honour virtue,
They celebrated and worshipped the supreme lord,
Joining with their ancestors.’

Sequence

Enthusiasm follows from Hexagram 15, Integrity:
‘One who possesses greatness and is also capable of Integrity is naturally Enthusiastic.’

Changing Lines

Line 1

‘Enthusiasm calling out,
Pitfall.’

Line 2

‘Boundaries turning to stone,
Not for a whole day.
Constancy, good fortune.’

Line 4

‘Source of enthusiasm.
Great possessions gained.
Do not doubt.
Partners are gathered together as a hair clasp gathers hair.’

Hexagram 19, Nearing

Key Questions

How does this want to grow?
How can you take responsibility for its development?
What would your greater self do?

Oracle

‘Nearing.
Creating success from the source, constancy bears fruit.
Reaching an end in the eighth month means a pitfall.’

‘Nearing’ means drawing closer and gazing down over what you approach. There are two strands of meaning here: the approach of a greater spirit or presence in an ongoing process of growth, and your approach as the one who pays attention and takes responsibility. Like the creative drive of Hexagram 1, this great, growing energy comes from the source, asks for your full participation, and seeks to reach fruition and be realized. But its surging growth can be disastrously interrupted by ‘reaching an end in the eighth month’.

The eighth month is the month of harvest. If this comes round too soon for what Nears to reach full growth – if the situation demands that you produce a tangible result prematurely – then this means misfortune. Or if you focus exclusively on results instead of watching patiently over developments – if your expectations are out of touch with the pace of growth – then there is misfortune.

Having something to show for a process of growth doesn’t mean you’ve arrived at its outcome: harvest is not the end. As each harvest is gathered in and stored, the seasonal cycle of growth continues; you need to stay present to its ongoing changes, wherever they might lead.

Image

‘Above the lake is earth: Nearing.
A noble one teaches and reflects untiringly,
Accepts and protects the people without limit.’

Sequence

Nearing follows from Hexagram 18, Corruption:
‘With work to do, greatness becomes possible, and so Nearing follows. Nearing means greatness.’

Pair

Nearing forms a pair with Hexagram 20, Seeing:
‘What is right for Nearing and Seeing: someone reaches out, someone seeks.’

What effect would it have on my spider veins if I continue using ayurvedic medicine?
16.1.2.4 > 19

Welcome to Clarity, Prianca. The single yang line in 16 suggests a vein. Personally, I prefer standard Western medicine where quick results are desired. Line 1 suggests that ayurvedic medicine will not quickly get you what you want. Line 2 to me suggests sclerotherapy. And the beautiful 16.4 suggests that expression of your personality -- your true value -- is not impaired by spider veins. Couldn't the problem be handled by cosmetics?

Thank you for replying...:) I did another reading with exactly the same question and it gave me another reading 41.2.5 to 42 Decreasing changing to increasing. It seems a more positive message and feels like i should stay the course....would my interpretation of that be right?? though i am open to everything...sclerotherapy or traditional...its just that i tried sclerotherapy before and it didn't exactly clear....so i started with this.....

Please come back to this thread in a few months and let us know how effective you have found your treatment to be.

Style of reading seems to vary with personality. Some might find a second casting on the same question helpful. I prefer one casting for a question and often spend hours on it.

thank you pocossin for taking the time to get back to me. I just started on the Iching so i think I need to ask questions and develop some sort of a comfort level with it...it is fascinating.....what would your interpretation of the 2nd reading of 41.2.5 to 42 be in relation to the original question?

This is a bit difficult to answer because it's a question of method, but basically the answer would be the same no matter how many times you cast because fate isn't modified by multiple castings.
