Everytime I log in, there is the prompt to allow push notifications.
I allow it, then get notification that it is enabled.
Can the site remember, and not re-ask?

Yes you go to forum settings in your membership and there's check boxes of whether you want push notifications whatever the heck they are. I kept getting messages about it and I can't recall what box I ticked but I don't get them now. I don't know what they are or what they are meant to do anyway but you can say whether you do or don't want them in forum settings in your profile if my memory serves me right. Oh hang on that's not what you were asking .....any once you check the box the things go.

do you know what they are ?

Yeah they are notifications that come up on my mobile device,
Like a text message that alerts when someone replies to your post or likes it.
They show up 'behind' the home screen and you swipe down to view them.

If you allow them and still keep getting notifications, maybe that could be a browser session/ cookie thingie?

(Please note high level of technical expertise at work.)

Shouldn't the prompt for push notifications come after a log in though?

I mean, a non-forum member doesn't have the ability to post, so what would they receive any notifications about?

Maybe I don't fully grasp notifications...

...or maybe I have done something illogical with the settings. That's also quite possible.

Please ignore the above.
The prompt does come after login.
But comes after every login.

I am using chrome on the mobile,
Went into settings to make sure notifications were enabled,
Went into Clarity user account, saw notifications were checked.

So, I get the notifications,
Just don't get why I am re-asked after every log in.

I don't get it, either. I'll ask their tech support.

Before I do - you're not using private browsing, are you? Or do you have your browser set to delete all data every time you close it?

No, not using private browsing. (Just a 'clean' machine each time I go online.)

Yes, things (browsing history, cache, cookies, passwords, autofill, location access.)
are deleted when I close the browser
(but the allow notifications setting does not change in two browser spots; in the general and clarity specific spots.),
And the setting for notifications doesn't change on the Clarity site.

Again, maybe I don't know how the tech works.

Yes, I mean no ;), that must be it. I expect the permission is contained in a cookie, so you are retracting it every time you close the browser. You could try not deleting everything and see what happens.
