I've been traveling through the sites that Steve Marshall lists on his links page, and I found this rather clever site there: http://www.akirarabelais.com. Many of you have probably already been there, but it's a real treat for those of you who enjoy creativity and haven't yet.

The index page is a poem entitled "Dear Eisoptrophobia," and it's also a javascript driven redirect page, so if you want to read the poem, either disable javascript in your browser...not the best idea because the redirect is the whole point...or an easier way would be to hit your escape key as soon as the page shows (the redirect is very fast)...or the easiest way...http://www.akirarabelais.com/eisoptrophobia/deareisoptrophobia.html. Otherwise...

The redirect goes randomly to a rather lovely "slice and dice" page (as I call it when I do it in Photoshop) with a link at the bottom to a Wilhelm/Baynes interpretation of a hexagram. The sliced and diced image is the same for every page in the 'random' sequence...it's just the hexagram that's different every time.

Another treat about the site is that every image slice hyperlinks to something quite nice such as this lovely poem by Pablo Neruda...http://www.akirarabelais.com/captainsverses/captainsverses.html, or this poem http://www.akirarabelais.com/tangledinathousand/tangledinathousand.html.

And from just about every page he has links to other interesting pages. Example: http://www.akirarabelais.com/luyf/luyf.html links off the "tangled in a thousand strands" page.

Yet another treat...his meta tag key words on his index page and image alt tags are totally nonsensical and delightful constructions. Examples: Acknuckledownedgment, Blepharospasmockical, Cheekadeekchimple, Hapapoosiesobjibway, Jollycomessmashing, Longtobechronickled, Magisquammythical, Michelangiolesque, Nevertoolatetolove, Rhunerhinerstones, Rightjingbangshot, Sexophonologistic, Stridulocelerious, Uplouderamainagain, Withumpronouceable".

Now that you know my inspiration for the title of this thread...

Cheerio the noo,

Val
