Hi,

In trying to learn more about IC and become more familiar with the hexagrams, I asked IC to give me some insight into my day today.
Response: 21, line 3, changing to 30. After reflecting a bit on what this message was for me personally, my feeling is that IC is referring to my persistent life situation/challenge. Biting through my current (and seemingly chronic) limitations and aggravations in order to get to a better place (30) of unity both within myself and without.
Interesting to me that the response seems so very closely related to my ongoing “drama” rather than just a general reading (or is this just in my subjective perspective?). Ironic really, in that I have been intentionally trying to get my mind (and my heart!)to take a break from the worries and stresses related to those situations. I’ve been hoping/praying that if I step away and take a break from all thoughts related to these, that my thinking and my intuition will regain its natural wisdom and balance.
So, I cast again and asked about the ongoing drama itself. In consideration of recent events between D and I, please give me insight into the next natural step on my path regarding that relationship?
Response: Hexagram 24, line 4, changing to 51.
This response feels good, if I relate it to myself only. Returning to myself and my own path, liberating myself from the influences of all these other things or at least keeping them in perspective……and that hopefully if I successfully follow that advice, then I’ll get to 51 (which I’m HOPING represents the great “shock” of finding myself again after this troublesome time and difficult life experience)

This request for additional insight and help interpreting is certainly not urgent or dire.
I do think I have a good basic understanding of the message IC is giving me here, so this request for insight and help interpreting is merely in hopes for other opinions and thoughts that might open my eyes to any different interpretations of these 2 separate, but related, readings. So many here post for help on far more important issues, that I almost feel bad posting with this, but I thought I’d throw it out there anyway, just in case any of you have extra time, interest or just feel the inclination to pass on your insight.

Just thought I'd throw my 2 pennies in for what it's worth. Am no expert on the IC, but hexes 21 and 51 have been very big for me lately, so here goes.

You asked for the insight on your day (and you thought you were having a break from your problems that day ). The IC got back to you with THE actual issue head on. The exact same thing has happened to me in relation to hex 21 too, i.e. when you ask something different to distract yourself from the main (very tough and life-path blocking) issue, it still gives you 21!

In your case, 21.3 seems to indicate you're raising old issues (old meat), i.e. you're not moving on, so there's humiliation, i.e. it's gonna be the same old ****.It also speaks of the same rubbish outcome if you have no authority to sort things out, so to me it's a combination of moving on and, if the old situation crops up, dealing with it efficiently BECAUSE you've moved on and you can see it for what it was.

I'm not that good on 24.4, but I reckon you got it just right, judging by the books I use. Hex 51 though is a relating hex, which means it's not necessarily the follow-up to the originating hex - the relating hex often represents the original issue - in your case, shock that makes you shake and quake in your boots, but still you ( the superior one ) carry on going about your business as usual. In which case, the whole thing seems to tell you to go your own way.

If you want to get a bit more on hex 51, do a search on the forum - a lot of useful interpretations pop up. By now I've had my good share of 51, and am familiar with the energy knot in my solar plexus when 51 manifests in my life - if you know Tarot card meanings, it's the direct equivalent of The Tower. Let's just pray we get a bit less of it in the future.What I mean is, has the problem with this relationship given you a tight knot of shock in the tummy? If yes, then we know the relating hex actually talks of what has already happened.

It's great you've started the daily readings. I've just gotten back to daily castings myself, and find them really helpful for staying in touch when things are tough. There's a lot going on with that 21.3 > 30 cast, and I think it shows you heading in a good direction, however difficult. The key thing here is chewing on the problem and in doing so coming across something old and poisonous. Perhaps this goes back quite a long ways? Be very gentle with yourself I'd say, as the line position shows that you're in a weak spot and might not have the strength to take it on just YET. Sometimes it's enough just to have a new insight (re 30's clarity), and to keep the faith that in time, we can bite through these things without it being so painful...

Be open to new insights today. I think this ties in with the process of coming back to yourself after an intense shakeup (24 > 51) pretty much as Hooliganetta described.

Thank you both so much for responding! It's good to hear some reassurance that I just might be starting to understand the IC better!
Also, you both were very right on in this, as a recent development from later yesterday in my ongoing saga proved the IC speaks the truth, yet again...more of the same-old same-old. (I swear I AM Charlie Brown!)
And wow... I'm wondering if I'll ever get fully accustomed to IC's incredible accuracy?
