On 3: 7.2, 40.2, 64.4

Just sharing a set of readings I have received about the issue of a post-academic program I have been applying to for the past 2 years.

2015 - first application
Will I get into X program? 7.2
In the midst of the army. Good fortune. No blame. The king bestows a triple decoration.

I did not get in. I received a generic rejection letter that did not even bear my name. Three people were selected.

2016 - second application
Again, will I get into X program? 40.2
One kills three foxes in the field and receives a yellow arrow. Perseverance brings good fortune.

I was shortlisted, but ultimately did not make it into the final three. I received a rejection letter addressed particularly to me.

2107 - projected third application
Will I get into X program? 64.4
Perseverance brings good fortune. Remorse disappears. Shock, thus to discipline the Devil's Country. For three years, great realms are awarded.

I had gotten this line before when I had to surpass a myriad of obstacles to get to my destination, but eventually made it. "Three years" makes me think I will get in on my third year. But at this moment I'm not sure I want to try again. Maybe a year from now I will update this thread.

Just doing a simple five elements analysis of your three casts looks like this:

7.2 to 2 ~ earth/water to earth/earth ~ flowing water meets earthen dam ~ No.

40.2 to 16 ~ thunder/water to thunder/earth ~ flowing water meets earthen dam ~ No.

64.4 to 4 ~ fire/water to mountain/water ~ fire generates earth ~ Yes.

Here's Field's from "Duke of Zhou Changes" on 64.4:

line 4 ~ This omen text records the three-year long campaign conducted against Guifang, or Ghost-land, some 150 years before the founding of the Zhou Dynasty (see line 63.3). According to the omen, a warrior named Zhen (thunder) used this omen to launch the attack. At the completion of the campaign he was rewarded in the great state of Shang."

So, the long read on your quest might be: "Third time's a charm."

That's amazing, and poetic too. I wish I had known about the five element analysis all those agonizing months I was waiting for results. I had to make a quick google, and now I have been enlightened to this, thanks to you.

We'll see about "Third time's a charm," I mean, if I apply at all!

Just an update on the 64.4 casting, about whether I would get in this year.

Nope!

Maybe the rewards after three-year campaign simply meant I would find peace of mind after the third try.
