The question I asked the IC is what opportunity it sees in me having another job/function in society.

50.2 > 56

50.2 suggests food services; 56, hospitality and salesmanship. You have ambition in enterprise, I think. 56.0 "Success through smallness." Start small and work your way up.

I noticed that on an earlier thread that you initiated { Stagnating: shall I go studying again -- April 2 ) that you also received Hex 50.
Since both questions express a similar concern -- to me it is very interesting that Yi has answered you with the same hex { different lines, of course }
50.2 suggests to me the question -- What are you cooking? { Is there some idea that you have been contemplating, considering? Have certain kinds of experiences or synchronicities been clustering in your life within the last month or so? }
Also, since the lower trigram is Sun "wind/wood" , it also seems to indicate a time of indecision, vacillation but leading in the end to a decision -- and then a time of hard work, straightforward labor with a good chance of monetary gain.
Just some thoughts--- :)

Interesting. Never associated salesmanship with 56, but it makes sense, as does your connection with the hospitality industry.

It also fits right in there with itinerant work. In the sales biz the saying is: you're only as good as yesterday's order/sale. I always thought that was sick, but in terms of raw survival, there is no greater truth, even regarding high minded matters. The stick bug's design comes from a high mind, and the order is to live = to eat and not be eaten.

I noticed one outside, but in the second I took my eyes off it to reach for my camera, it was gone. Still there, but gone. This isn't something some monkey evolved human would have designed. But you can bet it's one they would emulate.

There's food in the ting.
My comrades are envious,
But they can't harm me.
Good fortune.

To avoid being eaten, Phasmids (stick bugs) have many unique defenses. Although Most rely on passive camouflage to avoid predators, many large Phasmids have large spines on their hind legs for self-defense. Other Phasmids will discourage their attackers by regurgitating food at them or by squirting them with poison. American Walking Stick (Anisomorpha bupestiordes) sprays his intruder with a chemical spray that causes blindness.

Female Phasmids can reproduce without mating. Some populations consist entirely of mature Females and their Offspring. The Young are identical to their Mother. Sometimes Mother Phasmid will search for a rare Male to mate with. She will either find Him with his Friends or will attract Him by emitting a seductive scent.
Lady Stick Bug got some 44 goin' on, damn right.

Great photo as usual !
You always seem to have a unique and useful take on things -- could you expand more about how you are associating all this.
I didn't quite follow the connections, and I would like to.

Thanks, Chushel

Hi Chushel,

Thank you. I didn't shoot the image. The one I wanted to post was HUGE and wonderful, but would throw the entire page into requiring a horizontal slide bar. Amazing creatures.

whateveritis that originates these designs of survival, is of a high intelligence. Higher than humans. (I'd tremble to think of humans as being the top of the universal food and intelligence chain.) So for these reasons, I always refer to nature first. It's what I trust. It's what can be relied on. If I draw analogies which are true in nature, and if the analogies are supported by the trigrams of a reading, then I can affirm or change my mind, and my mind can change my conditions. So I look to nature to inform my mind, which gives me insight into the situation I'm asking about.

Specifically, in regard to 50.2, the stick bug's cauldron is big and full, and lesser insects envy her abilities to survive; to eat and avoid being eaten is good fortune.

thank you all

thank you all for your wise insights.
chushel I find it amazing that you saw the too 50th regarding my similar questions!!
I didn't even remember myself. I'am so glad with this forum. To be taken serious and to feel that others really are close, in a loving respectfull way.
And a kinda funny way aswell Meng, with your stick bug story.
There is synchronicity although this doesn't mean that things get much clearer to me. But anyway. I was in south America this winter. I was in a Ayahuasca reatreat also to get clearer what I will do in society. And there in the middle of the main ceremonie hut I saw a stick bug long as my hand. It was more of a branch bug;)

Beautiful specimen. Hmm, it could be your ally and/or your totem.

We westerners like being associated with eagles, cougar, foxes, bear, badger, etc. But if I recall correctly, Carlos Castaneda's ally was a flea.

A young recovering addict had this dung beetle land on his hand, before performing a ceremony of burying his drug paraphernalia. It's the first and last one I've ever seen here in 8 years.

Thanks very much for returning to post feedback.

I thought it a delightful synchronicity: Meng's posting on Stick Bugs and your experience in South America. That is something that to me would be a wonderful jumping off point.
I LOVE that this happened!!
Also IMO some totems come and go. They arrive with a message, wait till we get it and then depart. --{ some of course become life companions }

so, :) I found these references that seemed evocative
Walking Sticks: slow moving behavior , rhythmic movement, master at camouflage

Also Meng: that was awesome intuition!!

In thinking further about your question re: job/function -

I wonder if finding the answer to this, serves to also ask you to examine parts of your nature that have been obscured? not acknowledged by you? perhaps a talent or predilection that you haven't explored? That maybe finding the right answer is not a straight path but circuitous?
{ in my own life} --I find that when a synchronicity occurs, it can come from some energy that has been largely unconscious and now seeks to be known.

Since Meng threw the door open to intuition, I hope it's OK to add this -- I really feel a sense of excitement as I have read your posts -- as if something quite wonderful and maybe unusual is on the horizon.
