More video of the dummies at the one and only Faux-News, who got t.rump elected, you can see the distemper in them, and the lies....
They lie as if no one has a memory of their previous lies.
For those blissfully ignorant of these people, the powdered fop on the left is named Sean Hannity. He's the guy who shared an attorney with t.rump. and talks to t.rump every night before bed to coordinate their propaganda.

Dr Fauci, the U.S.'s expert at the moment,
just went on Faux-News and told them,
"We don’t operate on how you feel. We operate on what evidence is, and data is"

He hit the nail on the head,
these clowns are sub-rational, self serving, knuckledraggers.

Oh, just a quote from one of his daily briefings about the pandemic: "Did you know I was number one on Facebook? I just found out I'm number one on Facebook. I thought that was very nice." A nice illustration of priorities.

It's been three years now of daily 'OMG'.

Each new offense, and new statement by the lunatic-crook in chief out does the last.
He has surrounded himself with obsequious loyalists who would never invoke the 25th amendment.(to remove him) and the G.O.P. senators are just old fashioned corrupt: beholden to their pockets, which are richly lined by the fossil fuel companies.
(he picked Rex Tillerson-the head of Exxon Oil as Secretary of State, and put a lawyer for the fossil industry as head of the Environmental Protection Agency, A Charter school owner who wants to end public education in charge of Education.... the offenses are innumerable)
The G.O.P. is also quite racist, everything they do is to secure power for themselves,
they actively engage in Gerrymandering voting districts in order to make the votes of non-whites not count

They are the Apex-parasites,
the American Daesh.
With Hybrid plots from the novels '1984'
and 'Harrison Bergeron', wherin the handicapper general reveals her motivations: to make her idiot son president.

I missed the press briefing yesterday so just found out about this on the other thread. My burning question now is who is he talking to who has agreed to "look into it" ?! All I see is the top of a head. (Am off to watch whole press conf.) (Answer: Dept. of Homeland Security's acting undersecretary for science and technology.)

---
Apparently now he claims it was sarcasm. (Not.) I mean, I think I heard a few weeks ago that people died because they took their pet fish's hydroxychloroquine...

I watched the actual recording, and there was not the slightest hint of sarcasm.

Undersec'y Bryan was actually the one who introduced the word "inject," but he used it in a different way. He was explaining the half-life of the virus in various temperature/humidity combinations without sunlight, and then he said (referring to the next line on the chart), when you "inject" sunlight into that, blah blah. He meant "add" sunlight, but used the loftier-sounding "inject."

So for a minute or two I thought, ohhh, people have misunderstood, Trump was just repeating him. But alas, no, when you then listen to Trump, he clearly meant inject it into people. To clean their lungs or whatnot. :freak:

From the short clip above it looks like Trump is thinking on his feet. Someone needs to tell him to sit down alot earlier than he does.

This popped up on my Facebook Newsfeed but was unable to pass on to Mt T as he is not on my friends list.

An excellent summary on the coronavirus Covid-19 " from an assistant professor of infectious diseases at John Hopkins University, Baltimore-Maryland, USA

The virus is not a living body, but a protein (DNA) molecule covered with a protective layer composed of lipid (fat) which, when absorbed by eye, nose or mouth cells, changes its genetic code (mutation) and turns into abuser and multiplicatrices cells.

When the virus is not a living body but a protein molecule, we cannot 'kill' it itself; it breaks down itself. The duration of this decay depends on the temperature, humidity level and the type of material on which it is based.

The virus is very fragile; the only thing that protects it is a thin outer layer of fat.
This is why any soap or detergent is the best cure, because foam attacks fat (why you need to rub your hands, 20 seconds or more, in order to make a lot of foam). By removing the fat layer, the protein molecule can disperse and break down on its own.

Heat melts fat, that's why it's good to use water above 25°C to wash your hands, clothes or anything else. In addition, hot water produces more foam and thus makes it more efficient.

- Alcohol or any other mixture containing more than 65 % alcohol removes any fat, especially the outer layer of lipid of the virus.
- Any mixture of one (1) dose of bleach for five (5) dose of water directly removes the protein and destroys it from the inside.
- In the absence of soap, alcohol, or chlorine, hydrogen peroxide can be used, because peroxide removes the protein from the virus, but it must be used pure, which is harmful to the skin.
- No bactericidal is useful. The virus is not a living body like the bacteria. We can't kill what's not alive with antibiotics.

Therapy being tested at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA, injecting disinfecting UV light through a catheter to kill Covid-19 and other respiratory infections. Partnership between Aytu BioScience and Cedars-Sinai on this project just announced on 4/20 - 3 days before the 4/23 Presser where Trump refered to it.
Trump said injecting a disinfectant that can kill the coronavirus in a minute and a half might be a possible therapy, that would be up to doctors. In the DHS slide presentation, that is a reference to the sunlight data just presented, where at 70°-75° with 20% humidity, sunlight kills aerosolized COVID-19 in 1.5 minutes.

Here's another article:

I mean, it's a radiation treatment, right, and we already use radiation for cancer, so... maybe? Radiation isn't exactly good for people, there's a lot of side effects, but if you're in dire shape already from a respiratory infection...

Bleach, on the other hand - :freak: :duh:

I'm willing to give him a tiny benefit of the doubt maybe. He has a well-established habit of talking before he thinks, and he'd heard about two things that kill the virus, UV light and household disinfectants. One of them might be plausible internally. Then at that moment in the press conference they were both being discussed at once, in reference to inanimate surfaces.

So maybe he got it all thoroughly mixed up in his head and out it came from his mouth, dui-ish-ly. (I didn't cast a reading, but it seems like one of Scott Davis's dui boundary events run amok. See here. A quote: "Boundary events, showing 'loss of control,' a breakdown of the equilibrium between man and his physical existence.")

However, when this was pointed out to Trump, he immediately should have acknowledged it and disavowed. "I got badly mixed up and said a terrible thing without thinking. Do not drink bleach or inject Lysol " or something. But noooo...

Any 8 year old knows you don't ingest disinfectant to kill things inside of you.

There are no excuses

So maybe he got it all thoroughly mixed up in his head and out it came from his mouth,

He's the president, he has advisors, he is meant to be able to communicate intelligently, even moderately intelligently. Instead he's like a 3 year old "mummy if I drink this cleaning stuff will it make my tummy ache go away". I mean that's pathetic, his stupidity reached a new low. I expect they have to hide the cleaning products from him in the White House in case he drinks them.

And here we have what I consider to be the best deep-fake video, of the shallow
fake-adult president.

Ah toddlers are much cleverer than that

Saw this other day, summed up my feeling re the pity https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/may/15/donald-trump-coronavirus-response-world-leaders

“Over more than two centuries, the United States has stirred a very wide range of feelings in the rest of the world: love and hatred, fear and hope, envy and contempt, awe and anger,” the columnist Fintan O’Toole wrote in the Irish Times. “But there is one emotion that has never been directed towards the US until now: pity.”

The sad thing is as I've watched the press conferences (or used to - I gave up), he'd occasionally talk about things that I thought made a lot of sense, that as far as I know no one else talks about. Like if South Korea wants the American military base that's there, maybe since S. Korea is doing very well as a nation maybe they should help pay for it. Like maybe it's not the best idea to have supply chains spread to the four corners of the earth which is very hard to manage. Like American companies shouldn't be able to move their plants elsewhere and then expect to send the stuff back to the U.S. tariff-free. Etc.

A frustration I've had with recent presidents, of both parties, has been that they gave away the store too much. Trump wants to stop doing that. Hooray!

But the reasonable things he says are overwhelmed by this utter cacophany of dumbness and chaos.

(Disclaimer: all of the above is (a) my opinion, and (b) based on very limited attention-paying since my tolerance for politics is about this big. So if anyone wants to argue, go right ahead but I probably won't be able to argue back. I'm well aware I don't know enough.)

I am trying to see this as a natural process on a macro level - e.g. Darwin's theories illustrated irl - while trying to stay removed from the dark places and the backwash (sorry for the mixed metaphor).

Eh ? What do you think is a natural process and what's it got to do with Darwin ? How does that connect to Trump ?

Sorry, absolutely no idea what you mean.

I would guess she is referring to
natural selection.

As in, "If you are dumb enough to drink Clorox because trumplstilskin said it was a good idea, well, maybe you won't be around to enjoy next years picnic."
