I asked Justin what happens if someone sets a password for their Journal, and then it's transferred to a different hard drive (when getting a new computer or whatnot).

Reason: once upon a time I encrypted a Windows folder, eventually transferred it to a different hard drive, and then couldn't open it again. There was surely something I should have done to prevent this, but still I wondered about Resonance Journal.

Justin's answer: "Yes, the password should still work if the journal is transferred onto a different hard disk."

Well... you could...
  1. Protect your journal with a (nice, memorable) password.
  2. Copy your journal folder to an external hard drive.
  3. Navigate to the external drive, open Resonance_Journal.exe and enter the password.
  4. See what happens.
That shouldn't require too much bravery, as these things go. You could always* spice it up by using a very long, complex password and not writing it down anywhere.

*please don't

Thank you for discovering that superb smilie; I'll be making generous use of it.

(My suggestion would of course work less well if you don't have an external hard drive.)

Unfortunately what u talk of regarding password protection is ever so slightly over my head. How do u suggest I manage my account when it is clear I am under some unwholesome and relentless attack?
