Past and new experience with hexagram 48 in terms of relationships

Hi everyone,
I have asked I Ching about the relationship with a man, who seemed interested in me, but I think on the shallow level. I really like him, but recently he told me that he just got out of a relationship and not ready to be in a new one. But he is definitely interested in me physically, even though I told him, it's not enough for me. I stopped contacting him. Today I asked I Ching if he will contact me and got 48.1 going into hexagram 5.

I have the experience with this hexagram in the past when I asked about me, being ready for the relationship, I got the answers that I have to nourish myself as me pictured as being a well. But now I am confused, I mean I like him, he told me he liked me too. But do I want too much from him? Does the hexagram 48.1 mean he does not feel like contacting me? But the background hexagram 5 means I have to wait?

Hello, Zumi. I don't have so much experience with I Ching and still need lots of help from other members with my own readings, anyway... do you want him to contact you?
48.1 The muddy water is not drinkable. The old well has nothing to offer.
It's not a well one could get nourishment from...

For my previous question about myself, I got more changing lines, so the hexagram was positive for me, because it gave me more answers. But now I have got only one changing line 48.1, which confuses me, creating positive hexagram 5.

Hexagram 5 is not the result it is the background to your answer. So it reads like... hexagram 5 - you have been waiting for nourishment or contact - hexagram 48 from someone whos well is muddy and undrinkable - line 1. His well is not able to provide nourishment. He told you he just got out of a relationship and is not ready for another. So will he contact you? Maybe, but probably not. Either way, you should not wait for contact from someone who will not be able to provide nourishment. The best you can do is make sure your own well is clean, able to provide yourself with nourishment, and available to others.
