and many times, i have been right on the verge of getting 14 --oh goody!--and then damn, it becomes 34....then I am 'trying too hard' i always think. and then I wonder if it really was meant to be a 14 but I got my hand slapped. (and please lets not argue again as to whether the Yi slaps one's hand:))
(it does:mischief:)

awww yes. Someone once posted in these pages a thread about 'that all important last line'. it CAN be that way can't it. :D This has been one of the most useful lessons of using the Yi, for me, to get back to an original mind after some kind of anticipation creeps in. I usually will stop, go deeply into the recesses of my thought process. I will not let a coin drop, until I get 'in tune' with the feeling of the original impulse. And when I am there, in the genuine feeling of despair of wishing to know, then,I open myself up to "the Word".:D

but how it shaped up, 25, listener:

I found out I most likely do not have cancer, and made a care package for a friend who does.

I lost 3 pounds, but probably put them back on by the end of the day, thanks to sampling the brownies in the care package. no worries, they will come off tomorrow.

The dentist, very trusted , went to work on my dead tooth like a rugby team, he knows me so well he can dispense with all formality of 'and now we are going to drill'. had to love it.

the men came to close the swimming pool, and after they were gone, my father and i both sat near it, silently, feeling, that my mother never even saw it opened, as she was in the hospital. she loved to watch her grandchildren swim. and now she is gone.

i finally pulled some weeds around it.

i definately had the thought, that if it wasn't for the love and care of my husband i would be a sad case right now.

Well yesterday I got 47, "When one has something to say it is not believed." Shortly after that toss my husband was calling to me from under the house to hand him a board. He was calling that it was by the door, I was shouting that it was not. We went on screaming back and forth until we were both EXHAUSTED, at which point I noticed there was actually a loose plank in the floor. When I removed this board we could talk in normal voices. Why didn't the I Ching just say to do that in the first place?

Seems one of the benefits of these daily tosses will be a gaining of experience/insight into many hexagrams quickly.

Glad to hear your health is gonna be okay, hollis!

(still this diversion has bought up some interesting facts, who'd have thought Topal wore pink silk underwear or that Bruce wears grey socks even in very hot weather  )

Actually, I was being a little imaginative there...:D

Just to follow up on some more trivia (I know, you can't wait) I remember wearing silk is meant to be the prefect material for having next to the skin. I found this:

"Silk was first developed in early China, possibly as early as 6000 BC and definitely by 3000 BC. Legend gives credit to a Chinese Empress Xi Ling Shi. Though first reserved for the Emperors of China, its use spread gradually through Chinese culture both geographically and socially. From there, silken garments began to reach regions throughout Asia. Silk rapidly became a popular luxury fabric in the many areas accessible to Chinese merchants, because of its texture and lustre. Because of the high demand for the fabric, silk was one of the staples of international trade prior to industrialization."

And:

"Chinese scientific study has found that silk has good health benefits.

Silk is protein fibre. Silk protein is one of the only few pure proteins. It contains 18 amino acids which are similar to those in human skin. Studies have shown that silk can help to maintain the metabolism on the surface membrane of the skin to keep the skin moist and smooth.

In addition, it has subsidiary cure for certain dermatitis. Silk fabric can also protect against the harm caused by ultraviolet radiation from the sun.

Silk is a kind of ecological non-pollutant natural fibre. It has unique features that are irreplacable by other fibres and artificial fibres. It is relatively resistant to ageing. Yarn-dyed silk fabric of different gorgeous clours has been made to all kinds of luxury garments, interior adornments, arts and crafts works, and tour souvenirs. No wonder silk has been acclaimed by customers as "Source of Beauty". So, what are the benefits of wearing garments made from silk fabric? Following are the four aspects to explain the benefits of wearing silk garments."

Anyway, my hex for today is 3.6 > 42

Well, "difficulty at the beginning" is very pertinent for many general reasons. As for today I can only imagine that I'll have to tackle more financial problems which is not a surprise.

thanks hollis. no silk stockings for me ! I am with trojan on this, silk makes me feel like a fish. and besides, it sticks to the body esp when you sleep. ahhhh, cotton is my garment of choice. in soft cotton tee shirts and pure cotton socks, the body can breathe. there's nothing like an old worn pair of flannel pj pants, either. i dare to say they are even sexy, altho maybe the men won't agree. those supposedly sexy little silk teddies and nighties...never could enjoy wearing them. never cared much for high heel slippers with a puff of feather on top either. nor red painted nails. why do men like that stuff. or do they? I think it makes them think of a "bad girl". "beep-beep, ahhh-haaa, beep-beep, ahhh-haa...I got what you want, you got what i need, ahhh-haaa" donna summer

i do like silk blouses though.

(uh-oh, hilary will be moving this thread to open space very soon)

I hope this is not the last post of the thread! If it is, it's awfully fitting but I do hate to see this wildly original spree come to an end...

Hello. This is my first post and I've not tossed any coins ..yet.. I find that researching the question before posing it is a good way of understanding what already lies within. The answer. My spiritual life seems to be in fairly good order, but of course always changing. One of my sponsors used to send the daily "I Ching" to me. However moving changed my delivery system and I've not read anything in quite some time. It was always a great conversation when we discussed the reading. I went out this morning contemplating the question I had this morning and although no diffinative answer has made itself clear, I expect it will or is in process.:) Maybe I'm in the wrong thread for introductions but we can change that. Okies, I'll check back later. At least we're up to date now.
