please help with reading 43.2 to 49, old love back into my life

Summary of my situation

My ex is back into my life after several years of not contacting each other. He's been searching for me and finally he found me. He has his family and I have mine. We stay in touch via email and phone call. About couple weeks ago I asked should I continue keeping in touch with him and I got 15 unchanging. So I've been keeping in touch with him. The friendship seems to stay the same but still we talked about our past and how compatible we were and how we miss each other. So today I asked a quesion "Will my frienship with him develop into something more than just a friend? The answer I got is 43.2 to 49. I have no idea what it means and how it implies to my situation. Any help in interpretaion is appreciated! Thanks!

43.2 looks like a big caution flag. "When there is a cry of alert, even if there are attackers in the night, there is no worry." Such security comes from maintaining a constant vigilance.

49 Revolution suggests that a transforming change is forthcoming. Insofar as others are interacting with you, the need and direction purpose of the change may not be evident until the change is complete.

So -- in the relative near term, quite likely a bumpy ride between you and your friend until a new balance is achieved, though I don't get a sense of what that new balance will be.

You might ask IC about the consequence of some proposed act-- meeting socially (or declining invitations to meet), etc. -- to get a sense of how to proceed.

Thanks Elisa for the interpretation. I have no idea what new balance is either. I don't think I know what I really want and so does he. Current situation is kind of frustrating as we live far away from each other. I really don't see how this friendship will go. So I casted another iching asking "what would happen if I take a break from this relationship for couple week to think thing through?" Answer, 16.4 to 2. So it means it's a good idea for doing this? It will make thing better or clearer? Thanks!

I think your assessment is correct.

16.4 "Being the source of joy, there is great gain. Do not doubt. Companions gather."

2 = Complete receptivity to the energies coming into your life.

Regardless of how your relationship with the other person progresses, you will be in a better place by maintaining your independence and letting the world wash over you, rather than trying to force progress toward some ill-defined goal.

I think that you both finished with good conclusion of what IC is trying to say here.
One of my favorite Hexagrams is 2. Hex 2 is one of the best representation of the spirit of Tao and Lao Tzu's Tao Te King - receptivity (passivity). Passivity is the greatest action one can take, because it is cautious and it allowed to the principle of Time to play the role in the whole Universe and the life of an individual. (I hope I said this right).
Hex 2 is to Hug all things. To Let Go and Flow with the Universe. To Act in the right time.
To let the action find you. The "Just do it" principle. "Just do it" when the time will come and with "hugging all things" you'll know when the time is right.
The finish of the sequence of question with the Hex 2 in the end is perfect advice giving by the perfect oracle. You ask IC a sequence of questions in your dialog with it (him/her) and IC finished the conversation with the Hex 2: "Do not act now, wait for the perfect time", "Live with the Tao". For me it is like telling you: "Your situation is not yet developed. There's a peace/silence in your events and everything is behind the scenes right now. You'll must wait for the perfect time when the movie will start to play and all backstage (subconscious) scenarios will came into the stage (conscious). Now, just wait and hug all things. Do not act, let the action finds you when the time for action will come".

IC is telling you that you are "nourishing" a situation. At least according to what you've told us, the move seems positive for your future development. There doesn't really seem to be a "relationship" here -- only two old romantic interests, both with families, trying to reconnect for reasons not clear in the interest of an undefined outcome. What would any sensible counselor say?

It is not productive to try to predict the future, or to get into someone else's head. Nourish yourself by taking care of business in the here and now.
