As a matter of interest, since its under discussion elsewhere about how people come to the I Ching through this forum....do you think about what your answers mean for yourself at all or are you just waiting there for someone to come tell you what your answer means ?


Take these answers for example. What do you make of them...if anything ?

Are you asking someone to 'help' with an interpretation you already thought of or do you want the whole interpretation ready served so to speak ?

I ask because as i say there is discussion elsewhere in the forum, a proposal by Hilary that people need to post their own interpretations before others chime in with theirs...

how would you feel if noone could respond to you until you yourself had given your own thoughts about your reading ?

Thank you so much willowfox you are amazing. Please know that I have very high respect for you and for the website. That the only reason why I ask so many questions as of lately is only because I am going through a very difficult and trying time. As you more than anybody know and therefore it is very important for me to let you know that I have been consulting the iching since I was nine years old. That I do not post my interpretations on the reading because inhave never been able to do an actual reading for myself as I get so doubtful I block myself and I don't ever trust my own judgement. Please don't ever feel like I am using you or this site as a frebee! I would never do that! I do rcognize that as of lately I have become somewhat obssesed with the same issue and keep asking but only willowfox knows and understands why. And I want you to know that you are mine and many of this website's readers' angel! My guiding light in the dark! Your readings although at times are not what I want to hear or read....since inknow they are coming from you, it gives me a sense of peace. It is as if you almost tell me that although not what I expect will happend, it will somehow be okay!

So Trojan I understand your frustration with a lot of the new users, but some of might just know way more than you think or even expect. And all we are looking for or are in desperate need of is some compassion. Compassion that we might get through a perfect stranger taking the time to hear or read your troubles and or advise or simply give you an opinion. If you open your eyes and your heart a little tiny bit more you would be able to see the bigger gift that this website gives. Sometimes a little compassion can save a life!

I would like to offer a different perspective on this.
Compassion comes in many forms.
Asking you to provide information and insight about a reading that you have done for yourself --
IS AN ACT OF COMPASSION--

You said that you have been using the I Ching since you were 9 years old but are in a difficult place now and need feedback.
I would suggest that if you ask your question, attempt to understand the answer and then post both what your understanding of Yi's answer, and your confusion,-- then you will give yourself a gift of empowerment and awareness.

When you ask a question from a place of desperation and pain { and I certainly have done this many times } and then take the time to really attempt to understand for yourself what Yi is saying -- You open a door within yourself. Not only do you take steps towards owning your own wisdom ---which you surely have! --but you open a space for real change to occur.This begins to change the feeling of desperation-- you realize that you are not as helpless as you have felt and that you can find resources within

Then when you bring your question to the forum, several things can happen.
The readers have a much clearer understanding of both the situation and how you understand it. That makes it much easier to give helpful and appropriate feedback.
You have already begun to grapple with the blockage or your lack of understanding, so you see more clearly where your blind spot really is. More specific dialog can occur between you and the reader.

When you JUST ask others for help, you limit yourself greatly -- it is then easier to leave the power in someone else's hands -- and that's not where you need it.

Since you were 9 years old !? You must have had much experience then and had to work answers out for yourself prior to this website existing

Re the underlined, wouldn't it be nice after all this time if you could do an actual reading for yourself..or even a little tiny part of the reading and then discuss what you think about it with others

re the 'guiding light' do you see the I Ching as playing any part in the guiding ?...no need to answer but it sounds like you feel your answers are coming from Wfox not the I Ching. Sounds like all your 'faith' resides in Wfox with the I Ching as sort of incidental

Update: *both readings basically combined in my case. No romantic relationship because this person doesn't want to "raise someone elses kids!". ... Horrible, but true. It is what the person told me after stringing me along.*
