Hello,
I just attended a job interview with a company and I am very anxious to know how I have performed in the interview. It was a quick chit chat to learn more about the company and what I am able to offer them. Unlike my previous post, this interview is actually for a job opening, a position in and out of research.

So, I asked Yi,

1) " what impression have I created to Miss X?" Hex 58.1.3.4.5>46

I am a chatty person and perhaps speaks a little bit too much? And she sees that I am looking for a job which I can achieve and be satisfied with? I am not sure about line 5..... does she see me as an honest and compassionate individual?

2) How have I performed? Hex 55 unchanging. It seems like a reflection of the interview. The interview was performed at an incredible speed. For a moment I thought I was on the bullet train. Short, direct and business.

3) "what are my prospects in getting the job?" Hex 14.5.6> 43

The two changing lines seem to look promising.

4) After asking about my chances whether I will get the job, I pressed Yi further on whether I will be offered the job which leads me to Hex 13.4.5> 22

Positive?

Insights is very much appreciated. My tiny brain is drained from interviews and I hope to get a job real soon.

Overall the 14.5.6 >43 looks undeniably like an announcement (43) of an offer (14)

re your performance, 55 I might take it as you gave it all you got and couldn't do more

58>46 I reckon Miss X saw you as a right old chatterbox

You asked the same question twice about whether you have the job...I mean you can't get a much better auspice than 14.5.6 can you but you still asked again

13.5 I reckon may mean Ms X did indeed entertain some doubts but she overcomes them

Now stop asking as some people say if you get a real good auspice and you keep on asking you can in some way spoil it by asking again and again...it works on some subtle level apparently ;)

Of course we can't be certain...but it looks good so...............

Thank you Trojan.

The interviewer were setting off signals that I am over-qualified for most of the tasks and I had quite a hard time convincing her that I am the best candidate for the job.

Fingers cross. xx

Hello, I am back with a news.
Despite the positive casts and some positive hints from the interviewers about my suitablility for the position, they have decided not to take my application further.

I then asked Yi why I have not been offered the job.

Hex 11.3.6>41

Yi seems to be suggesting that my character is not suitable for the position? or people in the company?

sorry to hear this news. I don't think, from the answer, you didn't get the job through any personal fault since 11.3 is definately a 'be philosophical, you win some, you lose some, roll with it' line and most of all don't be sad. 11.6 tells you you have nothing to defend here, what you need to focus on is rebuilding. It may be self image you seek to defend to yourself by looking to see what you did wrong...or something else I don't know. Sometimes I have wondered in general if Yi is suggesting a degree of relaxation about your current job seeking mode...i can't recall exactly why perhaps from other threads.

41 as the context I think i would take both as the loss of the job, (I have found 41 to come up often when one doesn't get a job) ..or even possibly referring to insufficiencies in the company

But overall I don't think it pays to put your focus on what you may have done wrong...at all To me Yis answer is asking you both to be philosophical and to go to pastures new, IOW look forward not back.

Re the previous answers they did kinda look as if getting the job was a real possibilty, although those lines in 58 and then 13.5 had this kind of 'touch and go' feel. I'm wondering if for example the woman interviewer wanted you, was unsure about it (the 58 answer) but others overruled her. I reckon there was a chance you'd get it and there was a time where you were in the process ...but hey you did well to get to interview stage and I honestly do think this answer points to no fault on your part. I'm not just saying that to make you feel better :D

Oh also in general hex 11 shows one to be in the flow, the opposite of 12, stagnation. so it would seem you not getting it was in accord with the flow of life, your life, the universe and everything...also why i think nothing actually went wrong you just didn't get it (41) but thats okay

Thank you Trojan. I enjoy reading your interpretation.

After rounds of rejection letters, I have grown numb to the same old statement "thank you for .... however, we have decided not to....."

I am defintely looking forward to my next interview (although none at the moment). I asked Yi what should I know or do to get a job - Hex 64.3.5.6>28

64.3 I would need to gather help and resources from friends.... which i have been doing over the last few months? I am not sure about the resulting hexagram 28. Is the situation reaching its break point?

and whether there will be a career "break-through" soon? Hex 5.1>48

Sounds like more waiting is required.

Further insight is appreciated. Thanks again!

The 28 may be how you feel about things, that you feel overburdened, and it can also mean you have to stand alone for what you want in some way.

In a nutshell I feel 64.3.5.6 does indicate you will get the right job eventually, but 'not yet' because 64.6 shows you celebrating it in advance and warns you not to get too drunk !!

I think 64.3 is all about timing, one has to be ready and focused on the change to come but one cannot make the crossing just yet. 64.5 one is doing well and will succed and must notlose patience...and 64.6 shows the time of 'not yet' passing. Thast when Yi warns about getting too drunk in celebration

I think 5.1 supports your previous answer, its telling you you have to wait a while. In hex 5 this is not pointless, hopeless waiting. In hex 5 one knows what one needs will come butnot just yet. But there are good ways to wait and bad ways to wait and hex counsels you to chill out a bit, and 5.1 asks you to back off just a little. Be content to be on the sidelines for now because your chance will come...and meantime take a breath , raise your eyes to horizon, look about...have a barbeque ;) well hex 5 tells you to eat drink and be merry while waiting and 64.6 says you will be getting drunk and merry so.........Even if nothing appears to be happening Yi is telling you not to lose faith IMO

BTW you can ask them why you didn't get the job. Most places don't mind you doing that

Trojan, thank you for your prompt response.

Hex 28 does reflect on my current thoughts and mental health. I am overwhelmed by the monthly bills and my unhealthy bank accounts. I do need a stable source of income.

I have asked the interviewer why I didn't get the position and to my surprise, they say that I am overqualified for the position (it is quite unusual to hear this, to be honest) and that someone with a similar experience and less qualification has been selected for the role. She also added that the company would prefer someone who is on a long-term status in the country as they are not able to offer any form of work permit.

So, I guess that solves the mystery why I was not offered the position.

When I received the feedback and the outcome of the interview, I was in a dilemma and a little confused because feedbacks from my previous interviews in Science were, "someone with a suitable research experience has been selected" and now, with a position which is in-and-out of research has given me the feedback that I am overqualified.... I may not be motivated for the role..... no work permit....

After reading Trojan's interpretation, things are making sense now. It is about the right time, place and people. I will keep looking and try to lead a fulfilling life.
