practice 20-> 44, answer/outcome in 1 month

hey all,

in a month i'll meet again some friends with which i frequent no more.
the occasion is a marriage. firstly we had no quarrel... since I am a person who never force things and.... things happened this way.

i asked what do i have to expect from them(mostly of them) in the day of the marriage?
the Yi answered with 20-> 44.

well i must admit it's hard to understand because the 2 hexagrams are very hard to understand. i have 3 moving lines. i'll try to give an interpretations of them.

hex 20 second line:
the feminine components of the group will spy me firstly just to understand what is best for a next step.
this line activate hex 59

hex 20 third line:
the referiment is still the feminine, they will look, remember situations from the past. lingers around progress and retreat because they are seeking a right direction to go.
this line activate hex 53

hex 20 fourth line:
i'll be honored as guest. some one will help me integrate again.
this line activate hex 12

all moving lines activate hex 44, which from my point of view can have the simple meaning of "to meet"... the referiment to this hex is to not marry this woman. i think that a woman let me meet with all others... but i still have not to trust her.
end of the day.

strangely this group is rouled by women... they decide when, who, how to meet... their interest come at first... and this is nice for a bit but not for the life.

anyone has a different or slightly different opinion ?

I don't see gossip, I see that you will probably be able to keep some distance from them, won't need to have too much one to one contact. Thats my overall impression. I think its quite a chilled out reading.

20.2 is an image of a woman peeking from behind a door...could be literally you see each other, you takes glances at each other but you don't really have much direct contact. To me its an image of for example when at a large gathering one can avoid people one wants to, maybe check them out covertly...to avoid them...or just to be nosey but this really is not an image of trouble at all IMO.

Infact hex 20 is a kind of remote viewing hexagram, can feel farily detached. 20.3 asks you to take time to view the situation and think about how you want to play it, how you want it to go.

20.4 an image of a guest ! What is more appropriate. I see this as a pleasant event where you only need to get involved with these people as much as you want to

I think the 44 is the sense of this as possibly a kind of worrying instrusion on yourlife, the sense of 'how is this going to be' and perhaps a sense of lack of control, its not your agenda as much as these womens...but 20 and its lines say to me you can be fairly detached but still have a reasonable time....or a good time


Personally I never bother with looking at the relating hexagram for each line.., here 59, 53 and 12 I can't see the reason for it since the answer is in all the lines together thats your answer why make life more complicated


but perhaps i am a simpleton



I guess I might just see this answer as you could spend alo tof time at the wedding on the sidelines watching people without getting too involved....maybe you take a bottle of wine or two and just relax and watch it all go by.

Hexagram 20 is the hexagram of viewing, watching without getting involved. So you are there as a witness to the wedding and the event and what you will do there is witness it. I don't see personal issues with others coming into it much. If I were you I really wouldn't worry very much about these people as I think attention will be on the wedding and you will be free to do as you please

overall, I think this reading would put my mind at ease. if you look at 44 as the context of your question, it seems you approach this whole gathering with a bit of fear, unsure about what to expect and maybe expecting some unpleasantness. but, like any wedding, it is usually a grand opportunity to observe and mingle as you see fit, to participate according to how comfortable you feel (line 4).
I look also at the steps of change...20.2 > 59.3 > 57.4 > 44.....and that sort of gives a more indepth view, but very similar to the original reading. Peer cautiously at first, put aside your differences and suspicion, and then a very nice time, even a fruitful time, can be had at this wedding. well i'm at home.... can't be there, my mother has some health issue... blood pressure leading to fainting. i can't leave she alone.

Haha..isnt that interesting (it painted you a picture of this situation) I am sorry to hear about your mom tho..hope she feels better soon. 20 to 44..20 being really, you are contemplating the event on the side lines, but at home, to help take care of your Mom (woman) who is ill. It also could imply the thoughts you will or have had about the wedding as well, but you couldnt meet them or maybe a her. Mirrored in the thoughts of others too about what you are doing. My speculation.

and she know to don't ask me to much attention.... kidding

wow thats funny because I felt like you were going to be danced around literally spinning ..someone making you.(thats where i got the piece of meat image initally) But it is your mother's spinning that has made you stay still at home or her home.
