My face stayed the same after letting the wisdom quad go :)

I consider any tooth problem as a personal failure because it's painful, it hinders the ability to eat (have joy),
and most importantly, in my case, because I didn't do enough. Maybe it's bad genes or something, but in my childhood every filling was like an F, I dreaded each visit to the dentist.
After switching to fruits I am free at last, no cavities, no plaque. And I am very thankful to the last dentist of mine, who finally introduced me to floss.

Letting wisdom teeth go was easy, they are superficial (ginnie pointed it out and I agree), because I wasn't responsible. My motivation to let the upper ones go was because my b-day is on 28th, so 28 teeth felt right, and because they were useless without lower counterparts. I don't know how you can setup a bridge there .. the bridge needs to be between 2 teeth, and the wisdom one is last in the row. :)

You're right of course, :duh: one cannot have a bridge for wisdom teeth.

Just... :claps: @ Trojina

The original toss was a very clear message that the tooth was beyond repair, time to remove it. There is really no other way to interpret such a straight forward line or put a twist on what it could or might mean. Direct answer to a direct question. All answers should be that simple when consulting the Yijing.

It has come up much too often for my liking lately, but I will never be able to understand why people use the Yijing to make health decisions. Consultation? Ok, sure. But ultimately the decision needs to be made for yourself.

What are you comfortable with? How does your ailment/ problem make you feel and can you live with it? What are the ramifications of taking/ not taking actions or receiving treatment? What does your doctor/ dentist feel about your situation? Do you trust them?

Again, I agree with Trojina. You're not a failure because of something like this. You're a compilation of genetics that make you YOU!

I need to revisit this interpretation:

Pulling the tooth: 38.4.6>19

It is very intriguing because there are two interpretations:

a) removing the tooth (line 4), is not such a bad thing after all (line 6)

b) you want to remove the tooth (line 4), but leave it that way it's not such a bad tooth after all

38 - Misunderstanding

One must revisit a misunderstanding if they want to dispel it. If needed, one can seek advice. One may abandon the small differences.

4 - One asks for help with leaving their neighborhood in order to overcome the difficulties.

6 - One wanted to take the other away from them, then refrains because the latter comes to ask friendly questions.
In the making
19 - To accompany

One calls the youngest so they come back.

Naturally you can lift this difficulty with the appropriate follow-up question, which would be:

What was going to be taken away?

->possible answers I can think of: the tooth, or the removal of the tooth

19 is the complementary hexagram of 33, so it would be a strong incentive to leave the tooth that way.

You can lift the doubts associated with 19 by asking:

Who/what are the youngest?

That way you should be able to clear any doubt.

ETA:

19 should be One calls the youngest so they return, I just checked with the Yi, as in hexagram 24, so it could mean here recognizing an error.

Hi everyone, just wanted to share an update.

I got the tooth pulled. Was incredibly easy and my healed went really smoothly. What I realized about 52 in retrospect:
Not just get still, but get still and see through what it would mean to get this surgery. I realized that I needed ppl in my life to care for me, to get me ice packs, massage me, keep me company after the surgery. It feels really clear to me that 52 was an invitation for meditation, stillness, to center myself before acting so that I can follow through with these plans in a clear and aligned way.

Relative to 23.3 yeah I parted with something inferior. All I'm left with is attachment to that which was decaying and is now gone. Meditation (52) helps (-;
