Puzzled by 48, no changing lines

Hello everyone! I've been using the oracle for a while now, sometimes though, I can't quite make sense of the answer.

The question I asked this time was a very specific - "What kind of an influence is *name of a friend* to my life?"

The answer was 48 - The well, no changing lines.

Does it mean I should "return to the well" and should distance myself from the friend. I am very much interested to learn what you think about that.

I would not necessarily say that. You asked about what influence this person has/could have on your life. I think the answer 48 could mean that there is deep and valuable connection here possible - but that it will not come to pass if misunderstandings, resentments or other conflicting influences get in the way of drawing that well.
Keep in mind that I am not a professional I ching reader, and this is my interpretation only. Still, I'd see Hex 48 as a positive answer.
