Watching the behaviour of Q and asking yourself this one question will provide the answer:

Who benefits from the things Q writes anonymously online?

The answer is:
The leaders of the Republican party.
Q is a Republican party propaganda operative.

For years they have spread smears (lies) on political opponents/candidates including celebrities who say anything against t.rump.
They whisper that they are cannibals and pedophiles, Actor Tom Hanks has become their target because he spoke against t.rump,
same with comedian Ellen. Q says Hilary Clinton is the head of the cannibal pedophile ring. Their banners are all over t.rump rally crowds, along with the Nazi flag, and the t.Rump flag.

It is very simple to understand.

Well I have always chided the Q-anon followers I know and viewed the 4Chan releases with more than a grain of salt. Supposedly as I understand it he or she is a highly placed government person leaking information on investigations and other inside Intel.

Your partisan paranoia notwithstanding, Flynn could certainly fit the profile of 25.5.
An innocent person that is sincere, was unfairly hurt and wants justice.
And a person that after 53.5 being disgraced for 3 years finally gets the creative result they have waited for.
However given the level of scrutiny he has received - by NSA spy resources that access *everything* - it is unlikely he pull off being Q without his cover being blown. But maybe.
