Gene´s quantum-physics made me think ..

Everything is related to everything else, and that is the base of an oracle: the yarrow-stalks are related to all universe, so is your question.
Hexagram 8 is about standing by, but the character also means to compare, to set side by side, and the scientific use ´follow from´.

The sentence, translated by Wilhelm as ´inquire of the oracle again´, should be (I think) ´source of oracle-consulting´.
The word inquire I cannot find anywhere, but the source is there.

I was reading an article on quantum physics awhile back and based on information gleaned I had the following ideas about QM's influence as to our(humans) physical 'reality'.


2. The streaming of our unconscious is the waveform; our experience of the conscious is the particle. The waveform is unobserved until it decides to interact with particles; by revealing itself to the conscious it collapses, thereby becoming a particle.
3. Our ?physical bodies? are aggregates of ?like-minded? particles in this ?physical reality?, ?death? is the dissolution of the aggregate into its component particles, which, now unobserved, return to the All as wave-?forms?.
4. As we are capable of changing only ourselves, all time spent contemplating another?s perceived deficiencies is time wasted.

I don't know if this fits in with this thread, and the above are just some of my attempts at fitting QM into a 'reality tunnel'. I left out number one as it was related to another of my musings and had little to do with QM. Number four just popped into my mind after number three and I have no idea if its related to QM or not, but somehow, in an obtuse fashion it seemed to follow.

We toss the coins and since they are related to all, they (or rather 'all') reveals other aspects of all, the closest ones first. Hm, sounds weird, but I guess I will get used to it. Leonard says it beautifully: the streaming, the waveform. It pervades the question or radiates from it, whatever, and here and there particles emerge which we can read as an answer from the oracle. And the ancient guy(s) who made the Yi are up there too, as waves, and talking back as particles. Nice, I always wanted to meet them.

I just thought this might be the background of hex.8, the base of 'standing by'.

Dear LiSe,

Should you not have read it yet, I highly recommend the book "The Holographic Universe", written by Michael Talbot. Some of the contents of this book are absolutely astounding, others are, lets say, highly speculative. At one point in the book I actually felt a sense of vertigo as he discussed the Universal vibrations which seem to be all interactive. I had this feeling that *I* would suddenly just slip thru my couch and fall through the 'Infinite'.

Louise - One has to have a relationship to have relationship woes. While that thought isn't persished, its highly unlikely. Broke hermits who live in deserts don't attract much of the feminine gender.

But I'll take the opportunity to welcome Candida.

Well, I will welcome Candida also, although belatedly, haven't had much time to be active lately. I have been listening tonight and last night to a show on coasttocoastam.com. The guest is Dr. Fred Alan Wolfe, who has written some interesting books on quantum mechanics. A lot has been said about what physics is now thinking is very possible, including time travel. The gist of it though, is that, while the physical world is very real, an illusion exists in thinking that is all there is to it. The point is, and Dr. Wolfe does not claim to have attained it, is to poke holes in this thing called our ego, and open up to the possibility that we are all one, and there are no dividing walls between us.

I once asked the I Ching about the unified field theory, (as if I could really understand the answer, ha ha) and I came up with hexagram 30. It is said that the ancient people probably came up with the idea of fishing nets from this hexagram, as it speaks of the doubling of the fire trigrams as being somewhat like a net. I am no physicist and no expert, but I feel it is saying all is connected, like each point on a net, so that anything within its grasp is hung there so to speak, and line one says the footprints run crisscross, like the crossing of the lines in a net. That is not saying or explaining much, but I do hope to get to understand this better as time goes on.
