I asked How should I be involved with the teachings of Tosha Silver which I had just stumbled upon and really spoke to me. The change from 34 which sounded promising to 56 was sort of depressing! It sounded to me as if Oracle is saying move along, this is not for you or it is only a temporary place, and not what ypu really need. Thoughts on 56? Thank you.

The change from 34 to 56 ....
Just FYI - it is always helpful if you can tell us what the moving lines are as well. For many of us they are an important part of the response.

Ex. using a simple way of showing the moving lines ~ here you have 34.1.2.6 > 56 (34 with lines 1, 2, and 6 moving).

You asked 'how' to be involved with these teachings, not if you should or if they were necessarily good - which are different questions.

So, how to be involved with these teachings: 34.1.2.6 > 56
Line 34.1: Injured in the foot. Expeditions disastrous. Sacrificing captives.
Line 34.6: A ram butts a fence, cannot pull out, cannot push through. Favorable for nothing. In hardship, auspicious.

34's lower trigram is Heaven, with two moving lines (1,2), giving us Mountain. The upper trigram is Thunder with the top line moving, giving us Flame.

Putting this altogether: you need to approach (be involved with) these teachings with the idea / attitude that you are not 'getting anywhere' (56's Mountain, being still, stopping processes); they are not - or should not - be about being or getting somewhere else, which is what we often want to do with spiritual teachings. Otherwise you could be disappointed ('expedition disastrous').

To be involved with these teachings is not (just) about having a (34's) Thunderous awakening. They are about seeing more clearly, perhaps seeing how things / beings / people connect and are all dependent on one another (56's Flame, about how fire co-exists, is co-dependent with its fuel). And even if you don't feel you are getting anywhere, or you feel you're not 'moving' (34's mountain), there is still value here - perhaps something that will serve you when times are difficult ('hardship, auspicious'), and not just when things are going your way.

In Buddhism, there is the idea of welcoming the unwelcome - that our spiritual growth can be found even in those situations where we're hurt - physically, spiritually, psychologically - (line 34.1's 'injured foot') or where we (as in line 34.6) butt our a head against a fence, and we feel stuck and "cannot pull out, cannot push through".

But it's still up to you whether you should or want to be involved, which are different questions I think.

I hope that's of some use to you. D

Well that was pretty amazing. Thank you. As I suppose would be supported by your interpretation, her message suggests (to me) not using a spiritual tool for getting from point A to point B, or ‘manifesting’ as is so popular. Rather she suggests being detached and using an offering mindset toward figuring your way through life (as in I offer this over to what is supposed to happen rather than butting your head trying to make something you think is supposed to happen happen). That this surrender is a path to happiness rather than figuring what you want and charging toward it with a set of goals and strategies and thinking it into existence- no matter how many obstacles you face, seems to be a Buddhist-like approach- the opposite of butting a head into a fence. I will let it rest in my mind more. Thanks again.
