Hello,

I would appreciate insight on a recent casting I received. I am undergoing a major life transition. I feel absolutely lost, and not sure which way to turn. In addition to this I find myself caught in a job that drains me of most of my time and energy without the reward it once provided. I asked:
"What opportunities arise if I leave my current job?"

...and received the reply of Hexagram 22 unchanging. I am a little uncertain on how best to interpret unchanging hexagram so any advice would be welcome.

Shortly after I asked "What might I encounter moving back in with my parents?" it is not something I want to do, but with my life where it is, it might financially be the smartest option. To that question I received the answer of Hexagram 27.1.6 changing to Hexagram 2.

I sincerely thank you in advance for your wisdom and support.

It looks like Yi is saying you are being idealistic. Maybe opportunities don't exactly "arise." Maybe you would have to go through a job search and interviews, and so forth. I don't really know your line of work and it could be, if you are in an artistic or creative field, that hexagram 22 would have a more positive meaning.

27.1.6:: the I Ching says that you have abandoned your sacred tortoise and are gazing at it with your jaw hanging down, surely not such a pretty picture! I hate it when I personally get this line! Line 27.6 says you would be a source of nourishment to others, which would be auspicious but would entail responsibilities. :)

The fact that you have gotten line 1 and line 6 both moving suggests that this was a quick question and the issue will be over quickly. That is, you are not really totally serious about moving back with your parents at this time.

Thank you ginnie. To add some context, my relationship has ended and I need to move out, I am a teacher but had already been thinking of transitioning to more creative writing which is my passion.

As for hexagram 27, I have not yet decided on whether to go, this isn't exactly my choice, but is this saying it would be wise to go to my parents? responsibilities not withstanding.

On one last note, asking "What may result if I move into an apartment with my sister?" resulted in:

Hexagram 8, unchanging.

Again I am not fully sure how to interpret the unchanging Hexagrams. In fact a good deal of the replies surrounding this situation have been unchanging.

I suppose asking questions in a panic doesn't lend itself to great results, in this case this interpretation would be correct. I do not want to move in with my parents at this point, however I may soon have no choice. I wonder if the Yi is suggesting things will have changed regarding my options before this time arises?

I think 8.0 about moving in with your sister is a good reading.

I agree with Ashteroid that moving in with your sister is a good idea. You will be able to rely on each other.

Thanks for the feedback ashteroid, and once again ginnie.

I have been talking with friends and the idea of moving in with my parents and saving money to change my life in a significant way seems more and more a possibility. It is hard to decide in the midst of events.
