I’m new to I Ching and casted a question on whether changing to a new company will be a better fit towards my success. I’m not sure how to interpret this reading. Please help. I do appreciate it.

answer, 33.3.4.6 to 8.

You have earth below producing metal above in 33. The metal then produces water above in 8, but this water is destroyed by the earth below of 8. It implies that the change in the company will be counterproductive for the success of what the company was doing previously. In terms of your own success I guess it would make sense if the whole company was in on it and "rooting for you". Nanjing rules give it as 33.5(7). Wilhelms' translation and commentary is:

° Nine in the fifth place means:
Friendly retreat. Perseverance brings good fortune.

It is the business of the superior man to recognize in time that the moment
for retreat has come. If the right moment is chosen, the retreat can be carried
out within the forms of perfect friendliness, without the necessity of
disagreeable discussions. Yet, for all the observance of amenities, absolute
firmness of decision is necessary if one is not to be led astray by irrelevant
considerations.

Note also that earth below in 33 is yang, which changes to yin earth in 8. Switching these so yin earth changes to yang earth (12.3.4.6 -> 39) can give you a better idea of the issues involved.

It looks to me simply like a picture of retreating from your current union (the company you are with) and going to join another company.

line 3 mentions loose ends you'd have to finish up. lines 4 and 6 say the retreat is good.

Why not go for it?

I'm not that experienced, but I thought I'd give it a try. It looks to me that retreating from changing to a new company is better way to go, which is conflicting with Moss Elk, so perhaps others can provide their insights.

Yeah, I scratched my head for a moment about this one. In case anyone wants to know the reasoning behind my opinion:
Yi could have said so many things, like 52 unchanging or 32 unchanging.
(which would imply stay where you are or don't do anything different.)

But it said 33. 3.4.6 (8).
There is more info in this answer.

Maybe Chaptershare can share details of the dissatisfaction with the current company, and things might become clear.

Hello friends, I’m currently at one mortgage company for last 4.5 years as a lender. Everything is great and there’s nothing to complain however there’s a part of me that’s tired to chasing the deals. This new company is a joint venture with a very busy and well known builder. I will be inundated with many leads since the client is required to get pre-qualified with this in house lender for the builder. The commission structure is a tad bit less than what I have now however I will essentially make more since the volume will be greater. The only thing that is holding me back a tad bit is working weekends which is not required all weekends but most weekends. I’ve been recruited by so many other banks and lenders and never gave anyone else the opportunity to sway me yet this time I did (I feel like the universe is telling me to open my horizons). I’ve been a loan officer for the last 16 years and started in retail, wholesale, and back to retail. I’ve worked for big banks and then now a mortgage bank however I’ve never experienced the builder side. What do you think?

It sounds like you could be doing more work for less pay. It's the yang earth (below) of 33 becoming undone by changing to yin earth in 8.
