Reading for the New Year - 36.5 to 63

The past few years I have done a reading for each new year. In general, I just hold the year in mind as I cast, as if for an overview. For 2019, I received 36.5 to 63.

I know in general this seems like quite a challenging position, but as I was reading it there seemed to be something comforting about it. That said, when it comes to Yi, I am an amateur at best. Still, I really resonated with the changing line I received. I feel that I am quite used to handling challenging situations as is described in this line--by guarding my ideals and outwardly conforming.

I have many changes coming this year. Most notably, I just finished my master's program and am trying to grow my professional clientele. I do not expect it to be easy, but I am hopeful. That said, I've never been sure what to make of hexagram 63.

It would seem this reading matches my circumstances, but I would still appreciate anyone else's feedback. As I mentioned, I'm not very experienced with Yi at all. :bows:

For 2019, I received 36.5 to 63.

36.5 doesn't change to 63; 36.2 does. 36.5 changes to 11.

Would you confirm what the actual reading was please .

Thanks for your quick reply. I was using onlineclarity's online reading generator, and I double checked; it definitely says 36.5 to 63.

Yep it does. I've been having a few crossed wires over the last few days. It seems I've been reading some hexagram lines fron top to bottom rather than bottom to top.

So I apologise now for any confusion caused.

First off, congrats on your master's! 36.5 does seem a little hair-raising at first glance, especially when it comes to a predictive reading or a reading about an entire year, lol. But the more I look at it, the more I see some positives hidden there. Any test of faith and character gives us the choice to get bitter or get better. In dark times it is very easy to get too focused on all of the things that aren't going right without. But all the while great progress is being made within. (Going through a serious health situation recently, I learned more about myself and other people than I had ever learned all the other years of my life combined!!)

The 63 can have different meanings for different areas in life. In work it could mean keeping up your skills and reputation long after your first big accomplishments. In health or relationships it could mean keeping your eye out for the same problems you've successfully dealt with in the past.

If I did a reading like this for myself, I would write it down, hide it away for the year, then dig it out in December and see what fits (maybe you do this already?). Good luck to you in the new year, I hope things go well

I know this is about two months late (I don't check this forum super frequently--sorry!) but I really appreciate your response! I definitely have this written down to revisit in December.

So far this year has been going pretty well, but I'm definitely learning lessons in being content with fewer material comforts.
