The yi gives me this answer for my question which was. "Will my finances improve soon"?

8 .1.2.3.5.6> 26 Well this is swell and I feel very comfortable all will be stabelized soon, even with all the changeing lines!

Now the Tatot in a 5 card spread read
1. King of Pentacles (present)
2. 2 of cups (past influence)
3. King of Cups(future influence)
4. 4 of cups (is my reason for the question)
5. 6 of swords (developement of potential and posibilities.)

Any one wishing to help me sort this is welcome and will be seen in a favorable light. Thanks.

You are in a position to master prosperity and abundance, to harvest the results of your creative and diagnostic abilities.

There has been a loving influence which has brought you to this juncture.

In the near future, you will have the opportunity to master the art of being emotionally committed and loyal, perhaps to yourself and to your heart's desires. This commitment needs to be claimed and embraced fully.

You want to taste the finer things of life.

Your potential lies in the science of mind. You can succeed by being focused, rational, and decisive; creative, integrative and willing to look at the whole picture. The area of likely success would be in communication ....original, innovative ideas, multiple ideas brought together with incision, clarity, and objectivity...presented to others in a non-threatening and rational manner.
A college professor, perhaps? or teaching a course of some kind....?

8.6 is a bit of a warning that goes along with this....you need to have the head for leadership..you need to be clear and committed. but you have everything you need...mastery at certain levels and you have built up powerful resources of energy (26)

Thank you Jeanystar, To validate some of what you have written I send you this brief bio.

40 odd years in the medical field
Semi retirement in progress
Fear of emotional commitment present
A flair for creativity art and writeing
I am a bit of a ferral cat
I actually have no intrest in gross materalism but I Do like quality!

And yes 8.6 is a bit of a concern if 8.1 is not addressed properly.

My opinions:
(1)The tao in the outside world: the image of 26.
(2)The tao in your inner world: pure openness
(3)Your intellectual values and experience is what matter most here. Do not place yourself in a position where you need to lead and drive. A mentor?
(4)8.1? It means get to know the right person who can help you. Pure openness will help you to locate them.

BTW, 8 is about finding your gui4 ren2(nobleman?).

Yly2, the process has begun for seeking out this person where ever thay (he or she) may be. Access to them is important at this time in my life and if need be I will travel. I have found some confort in reading wisdoms of other but find it less than sufficient to adress constant niggeling questions. Thank you for your intrest and you open reply.

In the light of seeking this person, find one "object" that cross your mind. (The object is the compass)

I am shamed to ask but, is an object in your defination a physical thing only or can it be a mental construct. Is compass the directional find or a metaphorical path the "object" may lead down?

Two things immediately came into my perspective on reading "in light of seeking this person"
A/ perhaps it is not a person I seek
B/ to look for the obvious one needs to look closer inside ones own self.

Object?
It can be either a physical object or it could be a mental construct. But each having different meaning. This in turn will dictate the kind of compass that come to you.

In your case, just settle down mentally for a while, say few days. Be open for the potential message you are going to receive.

Jerryd,

My bet is that you probably never thought you'd ever see this page again.

I came across it a number of weeks ago and have been working on it, here and there - a little bit at a time, just as a practice at writing out a complete tarot reading which I don't do often. It originally was not my intention to post the results since I was never sure it would ever get completed properly.

I only did the tarot reading and did not provide a Yi comparison as you had requested, however, I hope what I offer here is still helpful. I offer the reading as is - I will answer (albeit reluctantly

) any really short questions that might come up but really don't wish to go into anymore detail other than what I have already gone into. ...plenty here to chew on, if you ask me.

All I would like in return, if you don't mind, is for you to let me know if this was understandable and useful to you.

Will my finances improve soon?

1. King of Pentacles (present)
2. 2 of cups (past influence)
3. King of Cups (future influence)
4. 4 of cups (is my reason for the question)
5. 6 of swords (developement of potential and posibilities)

Though both Jeanystar and Yly2pg1 have given you ideas to seriously ponder, those niggling questions you are left with may be overly captivating to the point that you may overlook the many gems contained in both their messages. I would like to present the very same interpretive ideas they've given you by verbalizing them in my own way. Perhaps my wording will allow you to see more precisely what the niggling is all about, so that you can set sail (6 of Swords) towards your vision rather than becoming more attached to what remains unclear (4 of Cups).

In your tarot spread, we see that you perceive your present circumstances through the lens of the King of Pentacles. Professionalism and status influence your outlook strongly. You yourself admit that though you have "no interest in gross materalism" you "Do like quality". Yet, what do we have when we reverse this King? we encounter the greed and ambition of his shadow. Shadows being what they are (unconscious) tend to be precisely the things that niggle at us from the sidelines.

So let me ask you this. What exactly is "quality" if not a desire for more than what is sufficient? What exactly is "gross" if not the magnification of that which is already sufficient? By defining things in this way to yourself, it is evident that you deem one acceptable, while the other is not. Yet, they are one and the same, and it is only your perception that is divided. As such, that which has been dis-connected from self and cast out of consciousness, seeks your attention - hence the niggling.

You must come to recognize that the pentacle king's underbelly is as influential, under the circumstances, as the progressive and skillful face he shows on the surface. His shadow is a major factor contributing to your present dissatisfaction (4 of Cups) and your reason for asking this question in the first place. Your feelings of discontent paints a clear emotional condition of a lack that simply cannot find fulfillment. But why not? Obviously, what was sufficient before is no longer enough. Evidently too, whether you are consciously aware of it or not, you are searching for security and peace-of-mind of a different order, and the old ways cannot provide what you presently seek.

Ultimately, quality has more to do with the aura and atmosphere it produces and less to do with material objects per se. Still, the judgements we make about value and quality in the objective world meet up with us whenever we seek quality in anything. Therefore, if you believe that some things are categorically too "gross" in the materialistic world to be accepted openly, then you will pass the same judgement on all things that may be over-the-top, mind-boggling and terrifically impressive by comparison. Compromised too, is the quality of relationship, especially if your desire is to experience that which is much, much more than what the average person experiences in one-on-one relationships.

As a past influence regarding this issue (2 of Cups), the balance of give and take identifies what has worked for you before. From its position, I suspect that it is no longer a viable option for you to draw from in the exactly the same way. You cannot get away with loving only one aspect of your desires (or people, for that matter) anymore because on the other side, the King of Cups is surfacing pertinent aspects of your hidden self and trying to bring them to your awareness. You will either perceive these as intrusive challenges or timely invitations to re-direct your attention to evolving other parts of yourself that have thus far remained unintegrate.

You are being challenged to find a new inner strength that will lead you towards the financial improvement solution you are seeking. This means coming to terms with past wounds that are at the bottom of your present standstill. Unable to process our pain when it occurs, we defensively disconnect from them until we are mature enough to deal with their emotional content. Until then, they continue to manifest but in a distorted manner as aloofness from others and unkindness directed at others. But the time comes when we are required to get in touch with our stuffed emotions and discover what unconsciously motivates us underneath it all. To openly confront those things that we have relegated to the sidelines, that niggle at us until we are brave enough to look closely at and cast our full awareness upon those things that we once felt were so threatening that our very lives depended on secreting them away.

As it is, your practical and conscientious approach (King of Pentacles) can only take you so far. Your inner world (King of Cups) must shift and find balance and connection (2 of Cups) with your grounded and materialistic outlook (King of Pentacles) on life. You must learn the art of 'Being' and become as familiar with IT as you've become with 'Doing'. One's reality is created from both 'being' and 'doing' not only from one alone. You must therefore actualize being in this world to the same extent that you are capable of doing in it. The balance between these two functioning states is at the bottom of how we create our own reality.

Release the tension that is the stumbling block that encourages you to continue believing that only through "doing" can we effect real change in our lives. This is simply an untruth that is keeping you from feeling secure and satisfied with your surroundings as they are and from becoming what they could be. Release the energy sustained by this belief and you will thereafter find that you can freely draw upon this newly liberated energy to improve the quality of your life experience in ways that will satisfy you.

So, will your finances improve soon?

Well, the potiental and possibilities for you, as reflected by the 6 of Swords, says that there is a strong possibility for resolution but you must first sort through stale ideas and unprofitable values that are hindering you from progressing. This entails becoming aware that finding new ways of bringing balance into your life is essential to achieving your goal. However you envision your hopes for yourself, you must aim at listening and then following your higher-self's guidance. This alone will move you peacefully to the banks of a new shore of self-realization and awareness. Otherwise, you will find yourself laboring against defeating thought patterns that produce rough waters ahead and leave you trapped in a rut or going in circles.

Hi Jerry,
You asked about money but it seems like the tarot and IC both answered you about relationships. I took from the topic title that you wanted to compare your IC reading to your tarot reading:

Hexagram 8 goes well with the king of cups and the 2 of cups--especially lines 1, 2, and 5.

8.3 and 6 seem very related to the 6 of swords and the 4 of cups in the sense of needing to move on.

Hexagram 26 goes well with the King of Pentacles.

8.3 can also correlate to the 4 of cups indicating that you are stagnating and haven't found something worthwhile as yet to sink your teeth into.

I would say that what these two oracles point at is the notion that if you find the right organic fellowship (catch the wave at its crest) your money possibilities will be directly tied into that.
