i would be quite happy to read in return

i have been a reader for nigh on 15 yrs and am an intuitive i ching reader, however i have embarked upon a 'great tao adventure' in 'actualization of the way' where my own personal desires have been put aside in favour of the greater and wiser 'whole'. its been tremendous year and i have gone further within myself than i ever thought possible, overcoming despair and frustration and laughing with the depth of a drain. however i wish to consult the iching to follow on from the original advice which was 54 changing to 61 (spot on) could someone cast this next stage for me as i feel that a personal consultation would colour the interpretation. i would like to continue on the great adventure but if not possible, then so be it. anybody out there, what does the i ching have to say?

Hi my name is Jack i.e. Papa jack I have been doing the I Ching for about seven or eight years. I use the I-Ching Daily, sometimes many times daily. I use the Steven Karcher Method of divining with marbles and the Yarrow method, both are mathematically the same but the marble method is faster. I use in my consultation the Carol Anthony method of "RTCM" with the marbles to be sure that I have chosen the correct question to ask and if I understand the answer, and if there is any further advise the I-Ching may want be to know about the questioned situation. Then I make my report. Sometimes it may take me all day, an hour, or a week but I get a through understanding and teaching from the I-Ching doing it this way.

I would do your reading for you if you would like, and I will stay with you until you are done with me. This is all free.

However, understand I believe that the answers though researched in many different interpretations and commentaries will still have a yang tint to them because I am a male human being. Therefore, I would suggest that a female human being should also do your reading so that you will get a complete answer and all information possible.

Oh, I am an old guy and married for 26 years, and am not abnormal to the best of my knowledge and the I-Ching's advice and teachings. Tough to some I may be a little different, but that is because I follow the sage of the I-Ching.

This would be the first reading that I would be doing here at this forum, though I have done others at other forums.

Okie dokie guess that sums up my resume for now. If you want any other info just ask.

If you want to contact me on one-on-one through e-mail my email is: \ taubrother@centurytel.net and papajack@centurytel.net

Based on what you said, it is hard for me to determine what you are really looking for in a reading. However, I did do the oracle, because you've been a very nice person, and I got hexagram 1 with line one - four changing, leading to hexagram 20. I won't say too much more right now because someone else has offered to do a reading for you, and I don't want to interpose if you prefer their reading. One thing I might say though is that in both relating hexagrams the upper trigram is wind. Wind often has to do with the disseminating of commands. In hexagram 61, a heart free of prejudice listens to the heartbeat of the universe, in hexagram 20, the teacher imparts his/her teachings to an audience that is devoted. There are far reaching ideas that can be associated with this, but I will leave off for now, and let you decide whether you want to pursue this or not.

Omshante,

Gene has already done a reading for you so in all respect I will fade into the back ground.

I'll be around though to help anyone that wants it.

Hi Papa Jack,

Here is a reading for you.
I ask Yi how to improve my career prospect generally? And I get 59.4

Any insight on that?

Yly2pg1,

Thanks for this opportunity.

In my opinon:
Kua 59: Is counseling you to "Dispersion" by eliminating obstacles within yourself. It seems that you are holding yourself back because of your attitude or treatment of others around you.
Kua 59 counsels that you must correct yourself before your career generally improves.

Line 4: Counsels that you must disperse your narrow mindedness and expand your career choices.
Work on your inner self by seeking advice from the I-Ching Sage and then putting that advice into practice. To do this will take courage and vision.

Kua 6: The two trigrams symbolize conflict and contention, for a person who is both stubborn and emotional will surely get involved in many struggles and disputes. By encouraging you to work on your inner self the I-Ching counsels that you will find success in improving your career prospect.

So in my opinon I believe that you need to work on yourself, get yourself together and don't worry about the carrer for now, just start working on being a "Superior Person" within and then all the stuff around you will become everything you ever wanted. But it will take work, by putting the advice of the I-Ching to work in yourself.

Sincerely, Your humble servant
Papa Jack

Hi there, you magnificent beings, thankyou for your encouraging response. Papa Jack, i should love to hear what you have to say, no worry about the yang perspective, wisdom is wisdom!

Gene, a frighteningly accurate response considering i have not yet revealed the details of the circumstances that surround this adventure. I should be happy to reveal all once I hear from Papa Jack and then maybe something could develope from group insight. this is really is quite fascinating. Its been an exercise in pure objectivity with a beating heart, much like a child that follows the commands of a protective parent without losing the ability to think and feel for itself, as i said quite fascinating. Yes Gene, unbelievable. I would ask, how did you know? but you are over there and i am over here so this proves that the universal wisdom of the I Ching is all encompassing, deepening my trust in the 'great tao adventure'. Papa Jack please feel free to speak your sage mind, is there anything else you need to know?

much love to you both

I will comment on Gene?s reading since I believe that the I-Ching wants you to have that reading. It would not be appropriate for me to do another reading on the same situation, since once the I-Ching has given it?s wisdom it should not be trifled with. So in my opinion:

Kua 1: You have every reason to be optimistic. In addition, the more optimistic and enthusiastic you are about your project, the more you will help to ensure your ultimate success.

Line 1: Do not allow yourself to be pressured into taking action prematurely.

Line 2: It would be to your great advantage to cooperate with somebody who is already involved in your project or field of interest.

Line 3: Act with integrity and composure. Do not be overwhelmed by problems or let success go to your head.

Line 4: If you are true to yourself and follow your intuition, you will make the right decision.

Kua 20: No matter what others may say or do, put yourself in the position of a detached observer. Be open-minded, unemotional, and ready to learn.

Summary: You have everything going for you. By acting with dignity and self-confidence, you will succeed in your project. However, do not let this success go to your head. You must stay focused on the objective of the purpose that you embarked on this project. Do not let emotions push you to act before you have all the information and know in your true self that the time is right to act. Continue gaining advice from someone in your field of interest and seek counsel from the I-Ching when in doubt. I believe that the I-Ching has you on the right path and the near future possibilities are enormous.

Sincerely, Your humble servant,
Papa Jack

Papa Jack, thankyou very much for deferring to Gene's cast and for your sage insight. you read with the voice of compassion, touching the heart and at the same time encouraging inner growth as you also did with Yly2pg1. i also feel confidence in your words as i have read over the net and find it difficult to hold on to the unshakeable wisdom of the i ching without some sort of interaction or confirmation from the recipient. i find your perspective insightful. thankyou once again.

the tale of the 'great tao adventure is this - over a year ago i felt an internal connection with a writer who also is a taoist. i leapt with joy, that this person 'existed'. i no longer felt alone on my spiritual life's journey. however i also felt some confusion with the excitement as i had a partner and a baby. usually when we feel a coonection with another on a 'soulmate' level its usually associated with feelings of romance or passionate love. however i was to learn that this is not necessarily the case. here was a spiritual ally with whom one would face growth of enormous proportions as it has proven to be. before embarking on the journey. i consulted the i ching and asked ' what is in store, i feel an inner connection with this person', the amswer was such
54, converting the maiden - change or transformation out of ones control, with changing lines 4,5 and 6. this has manifested in an act of service turning into 61, insight. what the situation required was utmost sincerity not only to my work, but also to this person and humility when working with the i ching. it took approximately 6 months from first point of contact to gain trust during which time my spirits soared and swooped, collided and recovered, bearing in mind i was in 'service'. regular consultations guided my daily actions and protected me from feelings of infatuation. 'co-incidences' occurred to both of us at the same time even though we were hundreds of miles apart that kept me on the path.
during that time i had the courage to give up a rather unsatisfactory personal relationship which freed up a huge amout of restrained energy. realising that my relationship was actually with the tao, i was able to experience the true meaning of universal love. many tears were shed, being a creative - artist/photographer - i have huge encounters with the ego. none of my friends can quite comprehend how one could have a close connection without it becoming carnal, does'nt make sense! since the start of the journey i have also gone through a period of great isolation which is metamorphing into a great big wonderful universal family. as well as studying for an MA in visual communication, i work for a telephone psychic service which allows me to use and promote the i ching to the public internationally been offered an internet i ching column and a regular radio slot, free to discuss any aspect of spirituality i like and yes i am in love, in love with the next part of the journey. my 'soulmate' has since gone on to get married, and the connection remains, unchanged. Papa Jack your words have been extremely helpful, much appreciated thankyou once again.

i think it important to note that before embarking an a tao journey, one must first find the connection through the heart. it need not be another person, it could be a thing or a project. what the journey of tao has given is the freedom to follow dreams without fear of crazing the mind, if one is a good student. it is my deepest desire to share this with as many people as possible. its very healing. changing line 6 in hexagram 54 indicates that if one is only acting out or going through the motions, forget it. i say so too.

Looking inward, being drawn further and further inward by what is seen but never touched, being drawn so far inside that one comes to realize one is no longer inside.

Unraveling the garments that cover everything seen and everything touched, finding that there is only the garment.

Two that are one and the same, never in conflict, never fully alike, covering all things with the great variety of substance and form they hold--of all things wild and tame one needs only to become the master of ones own mind.

Creating a circle with many lines, each line merely touching a single point of the circles measure--in this way the circle is uncorrupt, in this way a circle is defined but not directly bound. Where form is not leashed by substance, where perception is not tied to thought--seeing things for what they are.

Enveloped in silence, chasing silence, never fully grasping silence, seeking it with all the faculties of your mind, bending it into substance and using it to create the clay of this body, the body being nothing more and nothing less then the humble craddle of your mind.

To embrace silence, trusting it like a friend, never haunted by it, never tormented by it, to be the master of silence is to first be its servent--not its slave.

Severing cord after cord, being seperated from many things--discarding nothing, abandoning nothing, simply letting go without looking away. When one is no longer bound to anything at all, when all that is seen is no longer tied to your waist, but is allowed instead to envelope you with its gentle orbit.

Seeking only to understand, finding out instead that one can only become. Inspired to be great by what is meek, forcefully driven by what submits, looking only to see, listening only to hear, when ones thoughts are carefully measured and weighed against the actions they sustain.

Sending your mind into flight like a hawk, letting it soar into the sky, trusting it and setting it free, knowing that it will come back. And so it goes above the clouds, beyond the ground, exploring the lofty heights, where it truely goes one can never know--then the telephone rings, the belly groans or the bladder fills and one laughs in humble delight.

oh dear, i think i may come have across a little overenthusiastic, Gene. I was simply taking a connection from Brians' 'jazz' prose and hoping it would be a natural lead in into your more lofty insight, much of which leaves me quite fascinated. this is not greedy indulgence but a wish for a further step into the great mystery, more food for thought, more inspiration. hmm, perhaps a little greedy

i am very much into exalted insight and the power of 'de' (the 'it' factor) everyone has the power 'to move heaven and earth'

Hi Omshante

I finally have some time. My life has changed and I have been very busy lately, working almost 15 hours a day, for the time being. It may be next monday before I can write again.

You mentioned, how did I know? I'm not sure what it was I knew. I just did a reading...

Anyway, with hexagram one, time is very much a factor. A factor, it is, especially in the sense of "taking the time to do the work." Whatever work that might be! In your case, possibly the work of spiritual daily renewal. The second line has the dragon appearing in the field. Hexagram 2 is the field. It is the space in which time moves. Therefore, your work appears in the field, or in other words, in the space time continuum. As such, there are positive results to be gained by grounding your spiritual life in the physical realm. The third line says "All day long he is creatively active." (I don't have my books with me so I can't do a lot right now) The true sage, the true superior person, goes beyond the average in his/her field of work, and becomes a master. This can only be accomplished though by a dedication that does not stop, but continues daily.

More later, when I have a chance.

Yly2pg1, Gene is already a dragon!

i have not been able to reveal the finer details of the situation because the other person involved is a well known personality, a remarkable being, very active in the world of tao and spiritual sustenance.

Hi

I'm a wounded dragon. Been working long hours the last few days, and no time to do my energy work. Very disappointing. Can't help anybody too much right now.

Remember Omshante, that hexagram one line four says, wavering flight over the depths. This dragon has already moved into the heavenly realm. When the line changes, one is waiting for the rain. The rain that brings blessings and abundance. And when line one changes yin meets yang. May all the good things of life come to you. They come when the mind is calm, at peace, as in hexagram 20. That moment of deepest concentration, when the ablution has been made, but not yet the offering.

Hi Gene

thankyou very much my friend. thankyou for taking the time, no matter how little or how much, there is an energy in your words that i cannot quite define. i hope your current work will reach a level of moderation and bring you to a point where you can sit around all day in contemplation, healing others (if you so wish) with the universe taking care of your every need. you have a gift for knowledge and helped greatly. i also do find that the energy of a reading moves on. in this case, it has now moved on.

the one greatest difficulty for me on the journey was finding peace of mind, never trusted it! if there was no communication with the other party i felt fearful, tearful, alone. no more adventure is what my inner mind would tell me, i had become attached. theoretically the journey was with the tao, emotionally it was with another. this was the cunnundrum - the internal fixation - chasing the thrill of the 'great tao adventure', hence why i needed assistance. now i feel able to let go and breathe willing to wait for the taos lead. the voice of tao is strong in you Gene, thankyou once again for taking the time.

if you should ever want a reading in return please feel free to ask.

lots of light and love

Thank you Omshante

I shall keep your offer in mind.

And thanks Yly2. I've never used Runes very much. An old girlfriend used to use them a lot, I just can't focus on everything, so I do the best I can. I will have to find out more about this rune.

My question was "will my former employer offer me a job to return? I got hexagram 1 with no changing lines - Can this be read any way other than YES?

Hi Larue

I would take this as indicating a great influx of positive and inspirational energy which will sweep aside the problem.

It should turn out well for you, but that could mean anything - Like you are requested to return to your employment to discuss the matter, get hit by a car, meet a millionairess and live happily ever after.

Yes - is a tricky thing.

But this sounds positive.

hi larue

maybe you would like to cast the Yi again for a corresponding answer and then find the middle ground. hexagram 1 would indicate a time that will bring out the best in you if you so wish, wether you are offered this particular job or not. you now have the power to overcome challenges and make your way in the world. the time for taking chances in aiming towards fulfilling your potential!

love Om
