This is a continuation of an old thread regarding whether or not I should take the CFA exam. I have decided its time to register and hit the book because I will only keep procrastinating.

Will I be overwhelmed if I register for the exam?

Hexagram 9.5.6 changing to Hexagram 11

There are some restrictions limitations here but if I do this out of genuine interest then success and peace?

Will I regret attempting to study for this exam?

Hexagram 22.5 changing to Hexagram 37

Only study out of pure interest in learning the content and not the reward that may be reaped from it? In the process, I will find study partners/friends?

Hi,

My impression is that both readings sound very positive. Exams and the preparation stage usually have that overwhelming aspect , but H9 sounds a good guidance on how to prepare. Take care of the small things - work in small chunks and study in an organized and devoted fashion. Maybe it suggest also to find study-buddies those who share the same vision with you .

9.6 sounds as the consequences of anxiety and forcing ourselves more than it needed so the results are the opposites of the ones we wish. You know the usual instructions what not to do before exams etc. I would read h11 as engagement and also on how to proceed in a balanced , beneficial for you way. Notice also what h11 says :The small departs,The great approaches ... nice :)

22.5>37 , if the only reason you won't take the exams is you feel short , maybe Yi says" don't feel that way" . H37 is also about economy, and how well you'll distribute your resources. I can't see a yes/no answer just a question ou may have to ponder on. i.e. why you feel like skip them.

Overall, I'ld read both readings as : you can do it if you want

Thanks, Anemos. You're definitely right. Many times anxiety gets in the way of my test performance and I underperform because of it. I think your response on 9.6 is pretty on spot. And for the second reading, I do feel short and I feel like I will need to rely on several resources to grasp the material and succeed.

The structure of the test paper has been a good starting point to me on how to organize my study/rehearsal. Past papers can be used to make a plan and when you have precede in your readings timing your self in "real test conditions" is a good strategy as you can reflect and see your strengths and the areas need some improvement. Each test is divided in smaller clusters that need a certain approach. It helped me a lot to prepare kind of templates of each category and that gives a sense of confidence because the time you start to respond to an answer in your mind you already have a structure time-wise or content-wise .

Best of luck !!!
