Relationship Advise: 38.2.4.6 to 24

Hello, everyone.

I asked the Yi, "Where does x want me in his life?" and it answered me with
Hex 38. 2.4.6 to 24.

Ironically, we are presently at Oppositions/Alienated from each other Hex 38.

I assume line 2 means he would like to meet with me informally as line 2 states "meet his lord in a narrow lane"

I assume line 4 means though we are isolated/not presently talking, he wants to meet and talk to clear the air as line 4 states "Diversity isolated. meets the initiator. Fused sincerity and truthfulness. Adversity. No fault."

I assume line 6 means, though we are isolated due to difference of opinions/misunderstandings, he begins to realize I'm not trying to hurt him, but am sincere in wanting to be friends/mate and have his best intentions at heart; as Line 6 states, "Diversity isolated. See a pig covered with dirt, a wagon carrying devils. First draw the bow, Then lay it aside. Not an invader, but a suitor. Going forward, encounter the rain, Then good fortune.

Future Hex 24: RETURN
It looks straight forward that he will Return but 24 meaning is deeper in that starting something new, a new beginning. So it means he wants a new beginning with me, letting go of the past, changing the old way of dealing with each other and starting something new better.

"Turn Back. Prosperous and Smooth Going out and coming in. No harm. Friends arrive. No Fault. The Tao of falling away and turning back, In seven days comes the return. Favorable to have somewhere to go."

I'm new to this and have only been practicing on my own. I would like some input please and advice on whether I may have missed something the Yi is telling me.

Sometimes when we ask Yi what is going on in the mind of another, the I Ching responds with advice pertaining more to ourselves. It is difficult to know in this instance, and I think the hex 38 reading pertains to the situation as a whole. I think it is advice to you on how to proceed. It says to approach casually, be sincere, and know that you are both partners, not enemies. The image in 38.6 of pigs covered with dirt and a wagon loaded with demons is to my mind one of the most memorable in the I Ching. It serves as a reminder that our feelings can be intense but way off the mark of reality. Rest and think about it. (Hex 24 as the relating hexagram is, I think, a suggestion to rest.)

mmohan, I think you are pretty good in your interpretation.

I would like to add that line 2 can represent sudden realization of truth/insight from the higher self/unconscious, which will lead to lines 4 and 6 - dissolving the inner opposition, the misjudgment of one's companion.

Ashteroid, yes, I can see how line 2 regarding the higher self/unconscious in realizing the truth plays an important role in this enquiry. It's being still and understanding one's higher self, knowing and realizing when given insight that for lack of a better word "scares" me. Realizing but not knowing what to do about it or how to handle it. I guess just being still and realizing deep down you know.
