I asked how to proceed with a long term & committed, yet very difficult relationship of mine of 2 years. There is a strong bond between us, passion too (still), yet as the time goes by it's becoming more and more of a drag for me. Due to significant difference in age and very diverse cultural background, a future together is not likely yet being with him makes it impossible for me to be open for something new. A week or so ago, i made yet another attempt to break up - i believe that's what relating hexagram refers to (mind you, it's literally a block on social networks and not answering the phone calls... amazing how literal the Yi gets, is it not?) But what's 64 and the changing lines saying? What does it mean - not yet across in this context? If i was "foxy" and opportunistic, which i am not - i'd keep it going, it would be in my best (pragmatic) interest that i stay, the thing is that i am way more concerned about how i feel in the relationship and not what i get from it.
"Being constant"... In what way? What is Yi saying? Being constant in my attempt to end it (albeit it's "not yet across") or...? Please, help with insights, it's really important one for me.

You haven't reached the point of being resolute in finalizing this relationship. You break your wheels from breaking apart.

I had a similar reading years ago which seems so literal and getting 61>12 somehow affirmed my need to break up with a person. Yet after some more thinking I realized that h12 was not about him but people within me and other situations I needed to depart from . that situations was the easy way to regain some "freedom".

That reading depicts , in a pretty accurate way, your struggle. But i wonder if 64.2 its just an advice to be cautious, to slow down a bit. The little fox in 64 is inexperienced that's why he rushes to cross the river, to reach to the safe solid ground of the other shore.. to get things done. And line 4 sometimes could advise to investigate more the dark sides and what lays in the devil's country.

maybe I'm way off, but i'm saying all this because for me sometimes h64 describes an urge to get things done-no matter what- and h12 has not always been a no to things out there but within me.

Hope I won't confuse you more :( Hope things work for the best for you.

Anemos, you wouldn't know how spot on you are here! After certain incident had happened in my home - i just logged in here - and couldn't believe how Yi did foretell it AND how you interpreted it!!! 'Twas much (hypothetically) like in that poem:
First they came for the socialists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for me,
and there was no one left to speak for me.

I did speak out, it costed me a friendship and big tension in my immediate family... Some choices are hard, but need to be made :(
Thank you so much for your input, it means to me more than you would imagine. :bows:

Sorry to hear that. Hope what happened will be for the better.

strange, because I was studying today and this thread came in my mind and especially h12. What I was reading was about neuron , how electrical signal moves and the states of resting potential ( a stagnant time) action potential ( when things move) and the refractory period -the time it takes for the neuron to rest. A member here used to call h12 "vacations"

Alternative interpretation of your reading ;)
Take a break(12) from all those anxieties (64) :)

True, anemos! I actually did another reading today and Yi hinted i had an answer already... (29.3 to 48), silly that i am, i asked for clarification... and got 17 unchanging ;)) I am reading Leo Babauta's 'Little book of contentment' (you can download it for free here http://zenhabits.net/little-book/ ) and worked out couple of hours (no strain, Yoga and low intensity cardio ;)) so to calm down... Thank you so much for your help :bows:

Thank you, anemos! I enjoy Leo's work, i stumbled upon it while searching for interesting blogs to follow - and i am hooked ever since (he's also listed year after year among 'essential bloggers' acc. to NYTimes & somehow - speaking of Zen and stuff he comes across as knowledgeable, experienced, yet unpretentious...) i am really glad you download it, hope you'll enjoy the reading!
