please could anyone help with this problem, i have been having some problems with my partner we have not met or spoken for a while, i have sent him some texts but have not got a reply, so i asked the i ching to tell me if he was still interested in me;it gave as an answer 43 lines 2 and 3 think that changes into 17 could you please give some guidance on this?

Hex 43.2 says to prepare yourself for any unforseen problems that may arise, so don't worry about the situation.

Hex 43.3 it seems that your relationship is not approved of, and therefore someone is annoyed at you for you being his friend, this is making you feel lonely and I think it has turned him into an outcast. So I would presume that he is keeping his distant from you all at the present time.

Hex 17 following, the older yields to the younger, yes I think that he is still interested in you but is taking time out for whatever reason.

I'd like to add to what Willowfox said because I've had three instances with 43.3. In each case, it turned out to be that the other person was being overbearing and my only choice was to sidestep them or withdraw. Karcher says about this line: "cruel people insist on their mastery." It never went that far in my experience (his words evoke a Victorian image of slave drivers for me!), but I think you've already got the idea since you named yourself Rainshower. You could try following (17) the Yi Jing on what to do next....

Is it possible that he has a grievance, misjuged you about something ? I think short term it looks like theres some trouble around. The transitional hexagram is 49,3 suggesting perhaps that alot of clearing up and discussion needs to take place to get to the following in 17. It could even be a misconception about you you are not even aware he holds, ie a false rumour etc etc You need to get your case accross to him if you have been falsley represented.

I only just started looking at transitional hexagrams, they seem useful but I'm not sure I got the idea of it right, open to correction if not
