I asked the oracle: " I feel like I need to express my emotions to X. How should I approach this?"
I looked back at all my relationship patterns and I have never been able to express how I felt regarding abusive behaviors in partnerships. Not to condemn them but to just say how such behaviors are making me feel. I normally just take the submissive position and do not speak what I feel. I feel like I need a revolution so it makes sense I received the hexagram 49 revolution . I also got six at the 2nd and 9 at the 3rd changing to hexagram 58. Please guide me in what you think this means. I feel eager to act this moment but I will wait to see your responses.

What a lovely answer. It shows it is indeed time to discard old patterns. Your day to do this has arrived (49.2) it won't be instant and you will need to keep on talking and talking and it will take time, a bit like going around in circles for a while (49.3) but the great thing is this needn't be a heavy or unhappy experience for either of you. Hexagram 58 shows openess and joy in communication. And this can manifest as not being able to wait to speak like when you get the chance to chat to an old friend.....words tumble out. I think this answer shows you are at the perfect moment to change old behaviours that don't serve and as it's the right time it won't be a struggle....it may take time but it won't be as arduous as you may expect. You may feel very happy that this pattern is beginning to shift and it may well be a cause for celebration....58 is all about expression.

Your question was how you should approach this expression...well it looks easy and natural to me. I feel you can trust yourself to come up with the right words at the right time.

Of course I can't tell if this answer kind of includes him in particular or if it's just a great step for you personally....anyway i think it's a fantastic answer. Here is what I notice about the reading, for what it is worth.
I am thinking that this is the same relationship you asked a potential question about and you received H 28.4.5 > 46. If so, it is interesting to me that the "yang operator" (derived by making the changing lines yang and the stable lines yin) of H 49.2.3 > 58 is H 46. I think of the yang operator as the "inspiring force" or the "way into" the answer. So I have the feeling that the relationship reached some sort of peak and you have taken steps and ascended to the level where there can be a radical change. If you have never been able to express your feelings about abusive behaviors --- then to do that would certainly be a "radical change". And if you consider 58 being , "Opening" or "Expression" , then it seems that Yi is telling you to go ahead and express yourself --- to radically change the way you express yourself. And 58 as an "exchange" may be the type of long talk that Trojan describes. So, I basically agree with Trojan.

And the yin operator (derived from making the changing lines yin and the stable lines yang) of H 49.4.5 > 58 is H 25 (Disentangling/Innocence).
