I asked a frivolous question. I do this occasionally just to study hexagrams and lines as well as just sheer curiosity
However, this response really has me truly confused, so I'm hoping to get some insight from you more wise and experienced IChingers here!
I like a man whom I've been dating several months. We began as friends, but the attraction has grown beyond that...perhaps not something life changing, but definitely sweet and joyful
Our slow move from just friends to a bit more has been quite recent. Several weeks ago, I heard a song which perfectly demonstrated my feelings in our situation. I kept this to myself. As we move past just friendship, I really felt like sending him this song
It seems somewhat childish and silly perhaps to do that though...
So, I asked the IChing, what will happen between he and I if I send him this song? Response 40.3.4 --->46
Hmmmmmm...wow! I liked 40 in the sense of "release" as that seems to fit somehow almost as in "releasing my feelings", and opening some of that up between us maybe? But the lines!??!! These lines really confound me. They seem contradictory and yet not.
In researching line 3, it sounds very negative like "pretending to be something one isn't draws robbers". However, I know I'm sincere, so this didn't bother me too much, but made me wonder if it's implying HE is not sincere, perhaps? Or just encouraging me that since this exchange is sincere, so it's good. Or it's saying HE is insincere?? yuk....
Line 4... some interpretations sound lovely and focus on eliminating the false or evil people in order to make room for real, authentic people. And some interpretations make it sound more sinister almost something like free yourself from the bad "convenient" relationships with no value....
Ughhhh....that sounds sad...and yukky too!
Any thoughts on these lines together for this question? It WAS just a frivolous question, but NOW, I'm really thinking and wondering what IC is trying to tell me or warn me even maybe?
