Hi there,

I've had the bathroom redone and I'm concerned about the tiling. Some of the (very large) tiles sound hollow in parts. (uh, let's please not get into why that may be and whether I should take legal action against the tile layer, thanks :) )

I asked yi to tell me about the tiling long term. It replied 49.1.3.

Yes, the redo is a radical change is design and style (that was the goal!), but what does the reading mean in terms of the solidity of the tiling long term (since parts of some of the tiles sound hollow)? I'd like to think 45, gathering, means that they won't budge.

Thanks for your help!

Hi, I think 49.3 indicates some lack of solidity. You need to go over the work a few times, before you'll be sure it is ok.
The judgment in hexagram 45 warns to be vigilant regarding danger and unforeseen results. So , take care with the work and check it several times.
But hexagram 45 also describes favorable congregation -- so int he end the tile floor will come together.

Hmm. Thanks Loverofknowledge, that's kind of what I feared.
There is no possibility, without going to court, for the hollow sounding tiles to be replaced and properly fixed, which, in the interim, would leave me without a bathroom.
PS. it is wall tiles...

Any chance of settling with the tile layer outside of court - and just getting him to correct his work? (I suppose you've already considered that).

Oh, wall tiles...

maybe you could ask the YI how to handle the matter in the best way for all concerned.

Oh yeah, and he was ready to walk out on the unfinished job. So I'd continue to be without a bathroom...I can understand his point of view; replacing the tiles and redoing that part of the work would cost him more than he's earned on the job...

Asked Yi how to best handle the situation, it said 60 uc (measuring).

My plan was/is to get the works finished and be very vigilant for the next two years (the delay here in which trades can be held responsible for defective work) and take action if necessary....

60 suggests that you may impose certain regulations and make demands that are fair (not overly harsh). You are doing that, it seems like.
But if the tile layer is partly responsible -- for not being thorough in the work -- it seems to me you might press the matter a little more forcibly?
I may not understand the situation, though. You seem pretty on top of things.

You understand just fine :)

If I had two baths, I'd take stronger and immediate action. I have to balance needs here! I have made it clear that should anything happen, he bears responsibility.

In turning to Yi, I wanted to see what a (somewhat) impartial take was -- and it is also a good test of the readings and interpretation since the questions are purely factual to see over time what pans out and if Yi was spot on or not.
