So I want to get a nose job in december and I have to make a decision until tomorrow. I’m struggling between two doctors.

Doctor A, in the same city as I live, I know of him because a girl I know got her nose done and the result is beautiful; she knew of him because her causin got a nose job and liked it. But I have some reservations - he has few before/after photos with noses (I think he mainly does other plastic surgery interventions) and I don’t particularly like those photos.

Doctor B, 7 hours drive and I have not yet found a solution to go and stay there for a week, considering the pandemic, workplace, additional cost, etc. He seems to have much more experience, nothing shady, natural results, I lean towards him (if he’d have been in my city I think I wouldn’t even wonder, but then again, I could be wrong).

It would be much easier to stay in my city, on the other hand I’m talking about my nose so I’ll try to go the extra mile if that will get me the results I want. I am so confused.

i asked will I be happy and satisfied with my new nose if I go to
-doctor A 31.1.3.6 to 16
-doctor B 48 unchanging
Neither reading seems to be a green light and I would very much appreciate your insight. Thank you!

And your priority in December mid pandemic is to have your nose cut up ? Are you mad ? How you going to cope if you catch Covid and your nose is all butchered and bandaged ? Think about saving your life before doing this. The Dr should be thinking about saving lives too, his skills are probably needed for real work of a Dr, to heal.

I see no reason for anyone to have a new nose unless there's a medical reason or it is grossly disfigured.

Paying lots of money to have your body cut up is one of the most disgusting aspects of our culture.

Will you be satisfied with paying for a perfectly good nose (I assume) to be butchered ? Why would you be it's not a sane act.

Why would you get a green light with either option, it's just a horrible unnecessary thing to do. I think the 31 shows the triviality and lack of necessity for it. Spend your money on something real.

How can the I Ching sanction self harm ? I think all plastic surgery should be banned except for reasons of disfiguration or medical. These surgeons could be saving lives yet choose to spend their training on chopping up healthy people. They are disgusting IMO.

If you do have some kind of disfiguration or deformity or a medical reason to have nose surgery disregard what I said but choose via reviews on what is available (48) The 31 cast just looks silly. Lots of fantasies about what it will be like (16) with no real depth of reason or motivation, just following others (31.3)

Possibly Dr B may put you in touch with or offer you more extensive services, if he has any conscience it all, which if he does this job he may not have.
So this is a big world with lots of different opinions and unless those opinions and preferences directly harm you or those around I think you should respect them.

I have my reasons to want this nose job and I really don’t see any to explain myself for it. And also as a future doctor I know to respect other fellow doctors, plastic surgery isn’t easy unless all you do is implants (it comprises reconstructive surgery too).

In my opinion plastic surgery goes wrong when people exaggerate and end up looking awful. If you have one trait that has bothered you your whole life and want to change it, then go for it. You know, they say “beautiful is the least impressive thing you can be” and they’re damn right. The right people will love you with a smaller nose, bigger nose, red hair, fat or skinny etc.

But self-image and trust is SO important and if you want to change something for yourself I see no problem; even those women who I consider exaggerate seem happy with their looks, so to each their own. But then again that’s only my opinion and everyone is entitled to theirs.

My question is about choosing a doctor, not about the reasons behind a surgery or the pandemic or other “disgusting” things. Thank you.

I deleted the post you quoted as I thought it too much.

Re this

So this is a big world with lots of different opinions and unless those opinions and preferences directly harm you or those around I think you should respect them.

Unnecessary surgery really does harm people. We have a TV series here called 'Botched up Bodies' or something like that. I mean a whole TV series dedicated to people with disastrous lip implants, breast implants, nose jobs, butt jobs. Mostly my impression is these are attractive enough young women who have developed absolutely no self worth apart from their physical appearance. So yes much of it is as far as I'm concerned criminal damage and no I absolutely do not respect the Drs who perform this butchery. The people that fall for it are to be pitied I suppose in their beliefs about what such surgery will do. Although surely they must have money to burn to spend it on this.

There are justifiable surgeries for the appearance following accidents/illnesses/birth defects and such and undeniably they are a good thing. Having surgery on your nose because you liked the look of someone else's surgery but you can't be sure of the Dr so you are asking the I Ching....? What I'm trying to convey is this is self harm effectively if it's simply to 'improve' your looks and I don't think the answers you got are playing ball with you, look at your answer, the 31 answer.

But self-image and trust is SO important and if you want to change something for yourself I see no problem; even those women who I consider exaggerate seem happy with their looks, so to each their own. But then again that’s only my opinion and everyone is entitled to theirs.

The idea is you get to be happy with self you have been born with (unless disfigured etc etc) not to waste silly money to be chopped up.

Anyway yes I'm not the one to answer this question so I'll let you go ahead and figure which Dr is best, in the midst of this global pandemic, to chop up your nose for no good reason.

Although many of the readers here do just jump in and give their interpretations of the hexagrams, it is always appreciated if a poster will first give their own interpretation. Thus, you might get more actual IC readings if you start by letting us know what you get from 31.1.3.6 and from 48uc.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I see 31.1.3.6 as someone that may impress me at first, but I will then end up disappointed. I see it as I will first be influenced and like what he says/how he acts, but then I see a warning that going forward will bring me regret because in the end the result might not end up how he initially said, basically that his words won’t match the results. However, I would like to have more insight about the toe-thigh-mouth idea.

Regarding The Well, it feels like with doctor B the potential for a successful surgery is there (a well nourishes people), but I don’t know about the actual result. I have a good feeling about hex 48 however I feel I’m missing something.

From this reading I would go with doctor B, but as I said I feel like a don’t have the most complete/correct picture for these readings. I often don’t trust my interpretations (although I think I should).

Miki;

I'd say the first reading prevents you from going after Dr A; while the second shows a well in its own place where you can draw water. It gives a positive picture of Dr B.

That said, the surgery is a delicate matter. None of us can gurantee its result by using the I Ching despite finding it helpful.

Good luck
