Say no or compromise 35>2

My 3 month lease has just expired and it's become periodic. Today I received an email asking me if I'd sign a 12 month lease. I don't like living here particularly but there's no alternative at this point but I don't want to commit to 6 months let alone 12.

What if I ask for a 3 month lease at the same rental rate - 35.4>23

What if I just say a straight out No to signing any lease 35.4.6>2

Hectic I got similar answers - either way there's progress but I'm just not sure in which direction that would be.

Worst case scenario they can give me 3 months notice to leave the premises if they've not happy about me not signing another lease.

Hi there... I think the hexagrams are reflecting your desire for progress in this situation but not really accomplishing exactly what you desire in this situation.

35.4 > 23.... I sense they will say no.

35.4.6 > 2.... Reflects the rejection of your offer in line 4 then you refusing to sign in line 6.... This makes way for negotiation (hexagram 2)

Thank you watersprite2 - that sounds like a definite possibility. I've a feeling they said 12 months in hope I'd negotiate with a 6 months.

I've had a few ideas of how to sort this dilemma out in a fair and equable way but that would depend if they see it the same way...I'm at a loss what to do.

What is the best way to resolve this lease dilemma - 14.3>38

Give a 'Princely' gift, some sort of assett. Well I'm not sure what that could be.

My idea (Princely gift) was to show them proof I have a more regular income than I did when signing the first lease.
My other idea was to suggest that we wait another month before deciding on the length of a new lease as I've only just started my job and want to make sure that regular income will be continuing. (Plus it gives me more time to work out what I want to do).
Part of my issue with signing an new lease is I may end up in financial hardship and everyone loses.

They came to do a house inspection yesterday so I brought up the signing of a new lease. She said they just want if for the security to know I'll be staying.
I just said No - I'm happy with periodic and she said okay. Not sure how it fits in with the reading.....
