Hi

I'm currently applying for a canadian school and a scholarship opportunity arose for me, the thing is that I'm very worried that maybe I'm not the candidate that they're looking for so I asked the Yi "What do I need to do in order to get the scholarship at VFS?" and got 1.2.4 > 37.

I see both lines in hex 1 as me having to show my true greatness but not by academic merit but perhaps for talent and desire, however I just don't understand how hex 37 fits in the reading context. Can anyone please help me decode this one?

Thanx

Line 1.2 suggests a specific field of study, plus excellent qualifications and a recommendation from your previous tutor.

Line 1.4 suggests that you show them that you are indeed good as well as creative in your studies.

Hex 37 speaks about commitment, that you can and will do what they want you to do, you will complete the scholarship program.

It seems they want an exemplary student, you got to be good to get this one.

The thing is that what I want to study is a relatively new field of study, not to mention that there are no courses or certifications for that field here in Colombia, so I wouldn't be able to certify my previous work since it's all been personal.

Commitment on the Abyss

There might be issue of committment, as Willowfox said. You are Columbian and the school in Canada may be wondering if you will stick in through, and be part of their academic "home." H37 can be any kind of a unit, see the quote below from the Wikiwing:

"People in the Home. The ‘home’ is a dog or pig under a roof: an economic unit with shared wealth. Hence in readings it can be an office, a school of thought, anything where people co-operate within a shared space and invest in it together."

In Line 2, a great man is mentioned. Can anyone notable speak for you? Will you meet with their "great man" as part of the application?

In Line 4, you are "dancing on the abyss." Might they sense hesitation about coming to Canada and staying there? How can you show them your particular reason to go to Canada, and your ability to stay there and not leave the program early.

What you need to do, I have already outlined but it's going to be darn hard.

What is this "new field"?

Well, I'm not "meeting" the great man (in this case woman) as a part of the application, I'm actually working with an admissions adviser for now, but I could always ask to talk to the department head right??

About the hesitation, from my part there's none, however I might see that as they being hesitant to give me a scholarship while some Canadian students might be applying for it at the same time.

What is this "new field"?

It's called Entertainment Business Management, which is relatively new in Canada (it started in 2005) and it's completely nonexistent here in Colombia, here somehow people think that EBM can be done by business majors without any knowledge of the industry

"What do I need to do in order to get the scholarship at VFS?" and got 1.2.4 > 37.

H37 refers to the inner workings of a family or group, or a school of thought: the spoken or unspoken rules and regulations that bind the members of the group together.

We often get H 1 when we're in doubt about our capacity to get something done. 1.2 :: You need help. Get ready to have your plans seen by others. Seek out someone who can help you.

1.4 > 9. Maybe you will be able see success somewhere down the line, but it'll take a lot of work on your part to get there. I really don't see this as the time for ultimate success.

When the line 1.4 changes, it changes into hexagram 9, and it's difficult to see immediate results with hexagram 9. Success must be cultivated over a period of time.

What you need to do is to be devoted to your goal.

Well, here I am reporting after everything happened, I got a partial scholarship (turns out a full scholarship wasn't available anyway).

I did precisely what you all said I should you (getting recommendation letters from my teachers, preparing the best application possible, I emailed one of the teachers there), so I guess the advice was well thought and applied.

Thanx
