Shallow but pls indulge me... 37 for a woman's sex appeal?

Doesn't sound that sexy

37 for the family
The perseverance of the woman furthers.

Sounds kind of servile to me.

Although, fire beneath and within, and wind above and without, sounds sort of seductive. Like a wolf in sheep's clothing.

I never liked that translation. The Chinese have long seen the family not just as a microcosm of society but its root. The influence begins in the family and spreads throughout the culture from there, like by convection. "Wind comes forth from flame.Family members. The young noble, accordingly, speaks with substance and acts with consistency."
The woman is at the center of this, so the judgement is about "Rewarding the woman’s persistence." This is the opposite of sexist - it's acknowledging the importance of the woman's normal function. That doesn't work for those who believe that men and women are identical and anyone who says otherwise is sexist. But it is the idea in the Yijing.

How would you interpret the question that 37 is answering in this case then?

I don't see a real question here.

For sure it doesn't mean 'servile', Bradford explained why.

As about her sex appeal - some thoughts:
She has a 'familiar', cosy, feel-at-home style.
She's not focused on sex appeal, but on family/serious relationships.
She is stable and persevering and thus gets her way. She behaves like a wife and persists.
These traits of hers are where her appeal is - they appeal to any man who is similarly inclined.

I still don't see a question in the form of a question. This is crucial to a good reading.

I was wondering where the actual question was I must admit...

From the way tidalwave interprets the answer, the question sounds like it was "how much/what type of sex appeal does this woman have?".

Well it would depend on who was looking at her. I mean she is going to be sexually appealing to some people and not to others with different tastes....

What is the actual question ?

I'm sorry that the question, as frivolous as it was, has appeared opaque to some of you. Perhaps my slight embarrassment at posting it effected how well I explained it. But Diamanda has it right: how sexually attractive does he perceive her to be? Re: Trojina, it was asking about one particular person's opinion. And they work together, giving possibly another note to 37.

Sex appeal is a trick that life plays to get new families started.

Based on what bradford said, maybe he sees her as a potential mate and wants to have babies with her ? :D

This thought also crossed my mind, that she's 'his type', familiar.

Tidalwave if this is your guy, and you're worried about him, a better question might be "what does he intend to do with her?". Not as in if he fancies her, but as in actual actions, what is he going to actually do with that woman. Fancying someone and acting on it are two different things.

alas, this is not my guy, i am the lady in question. and it's inappropriate of me to be asking this, because i'm married. sadly, crushes happen.

p.s. thanks for the responses. maybe in time i will update this with my thoughts in retrospect.
