Hi guys,

This is a post to share my experiences of i-ching readings over the past year. Unfortunately when I was a newcomer to the I ching - I did not pay attention to the changing lines, but this is what I managed to note.

I hope this is of help you.

In January I asked what would happen between my boss and I work-wise.

Answer: 21 > 38.

What happened: He was frustrated about his unexpressed feelings for me (unrequited) and I was equally frustrated about his stubbornness to accept the situation. So we decided to go our separate ways for 6 months.

In January: I wanted to know where my relationship was going with a guy I had been with for only 2 months.

I got 55 > 53.

What happened: My instinct told me from this hexagram that our relationship would burn out. It was correct. We split a month later. It was great in the beginning, but the passion for him died as it transformed into a steady pace.

In February I asked: "should I go to the U.S.?"

The answer: I received was 24 unchanging.

What happened: I started a relationship with someone who actually lives there - so I ended up going anyway. I went in June and stayed for 2 months. I achieved very little in my work and other goals. This lead to frustration and me changing my mind about living there at that point in time.

Recently, I asked if my potential manager would direct my career in the right way?

I got 33 unchanging.

Outcome: Well, she wasn't steering it in the right direction - so nothing happened. We both retreated.

Watergoddess, this is terrific, thank you for the examples. (We love examples :D).

For sake of information, here are the complete readings and the line texts:

21.2 > 38

21.2
"Biting into meat so your nose disappears - not a mistake."

55.1.4.5.6 > 53

55.1
"Meeting your partner and lord,
Though for ten days, no mistake.
Going on brings honor."

55.4
"Feng is screened off
At midday, seeing the Dipper.
Meeting your hidden lord - good fortune."

55.5
"A thing of beauty coming
Brings reward and praise, good fortune."

55.6
"At Feng, in his hut,
Screening off his home, peeping through his door.
In solitude, without people, for three years sees no-one.
Pitfall."

All the quotations are from Hilary Barrett's book.
