Should I attend this event? 30.2 > 14

There is an event happening later today which I may or may not attend.
Part of me would like to but also I don't know what to expect as it involves meeting new people and it's possible I may not enjoy it..

Last time a few months ago there was a similar event scheduled but I decided a few hours in advance to stay at home as I wasn't feeling up to it but then felt better later but it was too late and I regretted that I hadn't just forced myself to go along!

So just now I asked 'what will happen if I go along to this event later?' and I got 30.2 > 14. This seems positive but could someone please give me some further insight into what hexagram 30 could mean in relation to my question... Is it saying to stay in the background or giving me some specific advice as to how to proceed? Usually I have difficulty knowing whether it's good to initiate conversation with someone or wait until someone else initiates. Most of the time I prefer when it's the latter as then I can open up and be myself more .. so I guess this is what I'm worried about..

I think the point the Yi is making that it really doesn't matter whether you initiate or wait. What you decide at any give moment depends on playing it by ear. Sometimes there is no recipe for the perfect exchange. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't flow. No biggie. But one thing you do have to do if you decide to go is to make the effort either way. 14 is the background to this. We get what we give in life. When we truly share without expectation or self importance then we ourish others regardless and often get nourished in return!
