This is my first post and I am very glad to have found this community!So my question is “what if I break up with my boyfriend?” The purpose of it being, will I be better alone or with him?I got 34 stable and as I am not in the clearer state of mind at the moment due to tensions and mixed emotions, I would very much appreciate any help and elaboration!Thanks to everyone in advance!

Your own impressions on reading the oracle for 34 are really important - just reading and see what jumps out at you.


I don't find this easy to interpret in any way. I mean when you say 'what if' we don't know what is at stake whether you live with him or not etc etc.


Also I can't very much see how to apply the answer except my instinct on this - ie the first thought that comes to mind, is if you leave him you can become more yourself.


Where 33 withdraws in order to preserve self 34 comes forth - out there- becomes strong and confident in self hood.


So if you have lost yourself in this relationship then perhaps if you leave you can become you again - if that makes sense.

My initial reaction to your question was why ask someone else, why ask your Mother or Father if it's a good idea to leave someone, almost like asking for permission. It's up to you after all!
But it occurs to me reading this, that sometimes people really do need to ask advice about how to deal with a difficult situation. Good luck.

34 hexagram is an all strike hexagram where all lines strike each other due to conflict of the elements found on each line. This is a weng wan gua theory. Your self line falls under frustration yang line. his line falls on girlfriend line yang line. he thinks of you. you're thinking about something else. These are all thoughts that are in conflict. Try casting the hexagram again when your mind is settled and ask a direct question not an if- or question. you can ask " What shall I do concerning my relationship with A?

Thank you all for your replies! I can see things a lot clearer now and I understand I was under a lot of pressure and overcome by egoistical attitude. It doesn’t feel right to do so.@lavalamp I was not asking for permission but I asked YiJing exactly for what you said:advice. I trust its guidance and know that if I truly understand the meaning of the readings and make it my own in practice, I will become a better person. Thank you again for your time and energy!
