Wilhelm:

One attains the way of heaven.
Success.

The time of obstruction is past. The energy long dammed up by inhibition forces its way out and achieves great success. This refers to a man who is honored by the ruler and whose principles now prevail and shape the world.

I interpret that as when I finally cut ties with her, I'll have peace (11).

Hi professionalsky3

Richard Wilhelm Translation:

THE IMAGE
Heaven within the mountain:
The image of THE TAMING POWER OF
THE GREAT.
Thus the superior man acquaints himself with many sayings of antiquity
And many deeds of the past,
In order to strengthen his character thereby.

line 6 asks to consider a sage-like attitude, with a "genuine zen attitude" that looks at this whole interaction between you and your mother and that exercises its strength of character, cemented in the accumulation of knowledge and wisdom of past interactions, yours and others, to be able to deal successffuly with these situations that "sting your relationship" .

Maybe when the accumulation of wisdom (26) reaches its peak (6) you will find a peaceful way of managing the relationship (11)?
Whether that means no contact, or low contact, and what shape that could take, may become easier to see and to implement once enough insight has been accumulated…
I wish you well on that journey!

Maybe read about narcissism, I mean, studying why people develop such a disorder? Maybe get in touch with a therapist, and put your anguish out? I believe these personality disorders have origins on personal pain in the past, usually during childhood. So maybe the 'knowledge' refered to in those comments above is pointing out that, if you understand the disorder , you can set yrself free, because it is not a fault, but a consequence of traumatic experiences for your mom.

Hi.
Maybe you find this helpful

Something else: the most experienced people in this forum always say the relating hexagram is not the outcome but the current context.

I empathise because my mother fits the description.

Wish you well
