Hi folks- I have a total knee surgery scheduled in late July. I made the appointment in the winter when symptoms were flaring up. I just turned 60 - I am fit, strong and right now feeling like I could delay this. I have trepidation and not a little fear about the outcome. I walk, do yoga, stairs, danced two hours at a wedding. ( a little ibuprofen helps) Should I ruin part of my summer with pain and recovery? 4-6 weeks of no driving, physical therapy, etc. Or wait until I ABSOLUTELY need it? Yi says "Thunder and wind: Lasting. A noble one stands firm and does not change his bearings." It's my right knee.

46.4 - 32 : Seems to say there is a need to slow down and consider things before making changes that will have enduring consequences. Maybe advice to look at possible alternative therapies? I have a friend who was facing knee surgery and she read somewhere that 70% of the body's energy each day goes to digesting one's food and that by juicing and drinking smoothies a person makes more energy available for healing. She took this advice seriously and stopped eating all solid food. It took her six months but she has lost 25 pounds and is dancing like a teenager.

My thoughts are you are aware of what should be done? I had a childhood illness with my eyes in the 80's. I was kind of lucky not to go blind, basically my father physically forcing me to take the eye drops saved me. Anyway the ulcers that affected my eyes have now become scars as i have aged. I will need to see someone a specialist of some description.

I am aware of this!

Its your knee, should you present yourself, i have also have a bad knee. I believe the line is saying do you need extra treatment or can you brush it off. Pain is a warning i guess, I believe the yi is throwing the question back, your aware. What do you think?

Like rosada is saying how can you make things better, i suppose the good news is you are fully aware.

From my perspective you seem aware of what your body can and cannot do and thats a good thing
