Should I get my kids the H1N1 vaccine?

This was my question, and I got Hex 2 (Responding) with moving line 5, changing to Hex 8 (Union). From the readings, I gathered that it was favorable to proceed. As my second question, I asked if my first question was faithful and truthful, and I ended up with Hex 15 (Humbleness)with moving line 5, changing to Hex 39 (Hardship). I am open to your thoughts on this if you would like.

Hexagram 2 is about following, and Line 5 is about walking the central path and being humble. I would say it calls for following the advice of a health professional that you trust.

This is certainly not a reading about making your own decisions. So please do consider the very large body of evidence against this vaccine as a way of health.

(Full Disclosure: I think this vaccine is a terrible idea for most people, so please consider why you are giving this shot. If you have healthy children, with good immune systems, they really should not need it, and do not need to be exposed to the risks!)

I don't think the I Ching is directly answering your question. It is throwing it back to you. The key words here are, "true success depends on the utmost discretion." No matter which way you go there is going to be a lot of pressure thrown at you. The flu shot in this country at least is presently voluntary. Don't expect that the remain the case too much longer. At least one state, I understand has already required health workers to take the shot. It may get nasty next year. I don't know for sure. Get as many facts as you can to make a decision, and maybe not be the first on the block. Wait and see what happens as much as you reasonably can.

Damiyen I cannot give you insight about the I Ching.. I cannot even do it for myself, but there are some rumors runing all over the internet.
as Gene says " Get as many facts as you can to make a decision, and maybe not be the first on the block. Wait and see what happens as much as you reasonably can.

Thanks everyone for your replies! Just to give you all some background, I have never gotten a flu vaccine, and neither have my kids. I am against it, and truly believe in the power of healthy whole foods, adequate rest, water, etc. to boost the immune system. However, I am a father of two kids age 8 & 13, and would be a liar if I said I wasn't a tad bit concerned about this strain. My kids are healthy, although my youngest suffers from allergies. He doesn't have asthma or any health conditions. Anyway, my initial reaction to my reading was that I should humble myself and be open to the advice of the professionals, as Tiger mentioned in his reply. However, in the Alfred Huang commentary on the fifth six of Hex 2, he tells a story of a lord that planned to rebel against the King. He performed a divination and obtained this gua and was certain he would meet with success. However, one of his advisers said that unless his action was faithful and truthful, he would fail. That is why I asked my second question, "Is this action (H1N1 vaccinations) faithful and truthful". Then I obtained Hex 15 (Humbleness in the Huang translation) with moving line 5 changing to Hardship. I tend to agree with Gene that my question is being thrown back to me. I have to humble myself, and be open minded to differing points of view, and ultimately I will have to make a decision, thus Hardship. Again, I am open to your thoughts if you would like to respond.
