Hi Fryga!

I certainly think that Hex. 18 means fixing something that is spoiled--- working on renewal. Your question is a 'yes & no' question, you might ask an open ended question. Like:

How benefitial is it for me to start attending this therapy session?
What are the benefits of this therapy session for me?
What are the disavantages of this therapy session for me?

These other questions might answer more in depth on what you are needing to know. But, I certainly think you got a clear response ;)

Wish you luck!

Juan

There were no changing lines?

It's important to know, with hex 18, what the moving lines are.

When there are no moving lines, I would say a big NO to this form of therapy.

The implication is that this therapy cannot fix whatever is wrong, because there is no relating hex. The relating hexagram shows your relationship to the primary hexagram. In this case, there is no relationship. That is not good, when it comes to a form of therapy.

Thank You for Your point of view, Ginnie :)
.It's so hard for me to grasp hexagrams, they often bring more confusion even when look simply and innocently.

I cast hexagram again, now it's 24 changing to 42 ( two upper changing lines).

I was just thinking about my possible therapy, without question this time...:bag:

It's more optimistic , positive in my understanding, am I right or ... ?

edit 2;
I must admit, that in my mind, I don't need therapy... It's suggestion from others, who believe this is good way to handle problems.

You are hoping to benefit from this form of therapy, and that produced the 42, BENEFIT or GAIN, as your relating hexagram. The second hexagram shows your relationship to your inquiry.

The top line moving says you have gone astray in some important way in thinking about the subject of your recovery. "There will be calamities and errors," says the Legge translation. "If with his views he [gets into action in that direction], the end will be a great defeat ... Even in ten years he will not be able to repair the disaster."

But there is still time for you to turn around and change your mind.

It would be impossible for me to say what the issue is here that is causing the difficulty. It could be as subtle as your attitude but on the other hand it could be as concrete as a therapy that would be ineffective in your case.

My opinion is that Yi is urging you to think about recovering, as you have good reasons to want to be better again, but Yi is warning you against this particular method.

I know what you are saying, how confusing it is to interpret the I Ching, but don't make the mistake of getting totally enthusiastic about this therapy, because the I Ching has warned you against it. No sense consulting the oracle if you're not going to follow its advice! If I got top line moving in hex 24 I would never do that thing I was thinking of doing.

Yi is sayings: "You are hoping this therapy might benefit you. It's good you're thinking about getting better, but this particular form of therapy would be a mistake. You don't have to make this mistake.

Ginnie :)
Thank you very much! I don't know how You did it, but despite my post ( I see enthusiasm in it ) You get ME through Hexagrams, it's amazing !:bows:

You perfectly uncovered my attitude and fear, I do not believe that this therapy will help me, I am encouraged for it by other people. I am afraid that if use this, it will be stigma with no real benefits. I want to be better person, but this method is like fraud for me, kind of scum.

My dad encourages, but doesn't have real knowledge about it, he's just good person and wants my happiness (so I did accept my first interpretacion of hex 18 ), other ones wants just my money and time.

I can not express how much you helped me and how incredibly accurate are your comments. I Ching is just scary sometimes.

Sorry for my terrible English
