Looking a move into a different apt in NYC and don't have a lot of ppl I know i found a potential roommate and asked the i-ching:

Should I room with this person at this location? Hex 29.2.6 > Hex 20

I get the sense of warning. I saw the place and thought it was a okay and a little dull, but my roommate was head over heels with the place. I think line 2 and line 6 says be careful and don't commit into signing something you'll be tied down to. I guess Hexagram 20 is just saying think about this some more. Is it leaning towards me avoiding this place or person?

Hi there. I would agree with you. Not sure if it has to do with the place or your roommate, but it's good to contemplate a bit more before committing to it. You can always ask why this is the case. Good luck in finding a place!

I am really new here, so you can take what I say with a grain of salt. I've heard it said that sometimes it's not best to ask yes/no questions of the I Ching. Maybe one thing you could do is to rephrase your question and try again - maybe something like: What is the nature of this situation? or, what should I be aware of with this situation? Again, just a suggestion from a beginner.

Best, David

Water above and below is generally about adapting to challenges and going with the flow. It can indicate an emotional quality. Line 2 generally is about expressing and making your intentions known. Here it is a yang line when it should be yin. It could mean to question things more thoroughly and express your expectations. Line 6 is about looking back over the whole situation and also looking to the next phase. It is in an extreme position. It may mean that you don't have all the information.
Best wishes
